This week, All Things Considered ran an rather interesting series on the theme of the individual in China. I actually only listened to two – the first, on Jack Ma, the founder of this buyer-manufacturer liason website/service and this story on a Protestant evangelist in China. What was quite odd about the latter story was that there was no mention of government’s restrictions on religion. The situation in China is, of course, complex, even varying from region to region. And the focus of the story was on the individual’s vision, not the government. But it was a strange omission of even a single reference, nonetheless.

In other news, priest of the underground Catholic Church is arrested and his parishioners beaten.
