Last Thursday:

Former Texas Gov. Ann Richards and San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom headlined a $100,000 PPGG (Planned Parenthood Golden Gate) fund-raiser Thursday. Today, PPGG will host a 5:30 p.m. candlelight vigil and walk in honor of women who died from shoddy abortions before Roe v. Wade, starting at Dolores Parks stairs and ending with a 6 p.m. program at Congregation Shaar Zahav, 290 Dolores St.

Two weeks later:

To celebrate the legacy of the Catholic Church’s commitment to social justice, on Wednesday, February 1, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory (SHCP) will host guest speakers, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and University of San Francisco president Father Steve Privett, S.J. at an annual student assembly during Catholic Schools Week. Catholic School’s Week, this year from January 29 through February 4, is an annual national celebration of the important role that Catholic elementary and secondary schools across the country play in providing a values-added education for America’s young people.

Wow. Values-added education X PPGG Fundraiser = 0 because that’s what you get when you multiply anything times 0. Zero.

What a farce.
