The occasion: the release of this tribute album. Frankly, I didn’t have much interest in any Billie Joe Shaver tribute album – why would I want to listen to anyone but Shaver sing Shaver songs? But she did play a cut – Jimmie Dale Gilmore singing "Hearts-a-Bustin’" which was pretty wonderful. Oh, and on the interview, listen to Shaver’s discussion of the meaning of that song. A poet.
