Typepad was down for a bit, but now it’s back. And now, unfortunately – or fortunately – I’ve gotten my head into a small task I need to complete today. I’ll blog inbetween thoughts. As opposed to in between naps.

Last night, I went to an adult ed session at our parish – it has been going for a couple of weeks – a study of the thought of Pope Benedict, based on Called to Communion. Which I haven’t read. I wanted to go, however, to get this average parish’s pulse on the Pope. I expected to see the pastor in charge, and when I entered the room, my poor eyes took in a figure leading the discussion who sort of looked like him, but he wasn’t in clerics (which is unusual for this priest.) Ah, that’s why. Wasn’t the pastor anyway. It was the owner of a local Catholic bookstore leading the discussion. A discussion in which the participants expressed sincere interest in what then-Cardinal Ratzinger could teach us about faith and Church.

(The sessions have drawn greater-than-the-usual number for adult ed in this parish, apparently. So take note, as you do your planning.)

So…that little corner of the Catholic universe seems to be on board. Don’t know about the other corners, though….
