(Which had been preceded by the absolute worst Easter liturgy ever, in which the visiting Franciscan had extemporaneized the entire Mass from beginning to end, including the Eucharist Prayer. And had, in the intense wake of Boston revelations and such that had occupied the previous months, made a big deal about how lovely it was that one of the altar boys came and gave him a big hug or something).
