Anyone still there?
Well, blogging to you from a lovely hotel off I-75 in south Gainesville, FL.
In a very, very, quiet room…
Michael went off to look for the Marlins’ game on television somewhere, Joseph was picked up by his paternal grandparents to go visit his cousins and so it’s just me and MJ, and he’s…asleep!
Poor baby. He woke up last night quite hot, and not just because that end of my dad’s gets shortchanged on the airconditioning. I mean, he was sick hot. He was still in that condition this morning, whiny, crying. We gave him Tylenol, (it is undoubtedly the same illness that struck Michael down late last week) and packed him up.
Not the worst trip ever, though, even though it wasn’t the best either. He did a lot of sleeping, finally got his appetite back this afternoon, and was no more annoyed than the rest of us at the massive gridlock south of Atlanta (we got off the interestate for a while, don’t worry. Don’t know why everyone else just sits there, though).
Got our Crispers salad…mmmm. They don’t seem to have quite the taste for salad up in Indiana that Floridians do. It shows, too. I noticed an an Atlanta Bread Company down the road, too. Okay, it’s a lot like Panera. And a lot like Corner Bakery. But I still like it.
But we’re here for a couple of days before heading back up to Knoxville, and then to Indiana, where they’ll take big fried pork tenderloins that hang out over buns over boring old salads any day. Oh, and did I say it shows?
