Essentially shut down:

A doctor suspended for allegedly performing two improper abortions filed an appeal Tuesday defending the procedures.

The Florida Department of Health entered an emergency suspension against Dr. James Pendergraft on Aug. 10, accusing him of inappropriately conducting two third-trimester abortions in 2004 and 2005 and prescribing drugs without authorization.

In the appeal, Pendergraft’s lawyers argued that the suspension essentially closed his two Orlando clinics and others where he is medical director "despite the presence of other licensed and qualified practitioners at the facilities."

Health Department spokeswoman Thometta Cozart said the agency couldn’t comment because it had not yet reviewed the appeal.

Pray for all who might have been scheduled for abortions in these facilities – that they will find the joy in choosing life, and be supported in doing so by those around them.
