Drat. Jean Vanier spoke at 10, and I missed it.
Mass is at 11 – it will be interesting to see what that’s like.
I am not sure what this whole “Ark of the New Covenant” is about. Can someone explain?”

On the Mass:
I didn’t see any of yesterday’s Mass, and am half-watching this one in between chores. How are they dealing with the bilingualism? I don’t like big opening processions with everyone carrying symbols of ourselves, but that’s hard to avoid these days. The music I have caught seems good – the Responsorial Psalm was very nicely done, with a 4-person schola doing the verses in a way that always strikes me as effective – one person starts and the rest join in a line or so later in harmony.  The verses unaccompanied.
The consecration was chanted. Pater Noster and Agnus Dei in Latin. The instrumentation on everything seems, from what I have heard, to be subdued and we are spared bombastic instrumental introductions to the Mass parts.  Hooray!
