It was the lead story on All Things Considered yesterday, and they dealt with it in a rather measured way – all of their experts were legal, not ecclesiastical, but still, they gave a good sense of the pros and cons, saying that other bishops will be watching the fallout from this, saying that if the move results in lower settlements, it will be considered a success of sorts, but if it results in too much government meddling in church affairs it will obviously be not.
