Probation terms are too demanding

Bishop Thomas J. O’Brien wants his travel time deducted from the 1,000 hours of community service he was ordered to serve for a felony hit-and-run conviction.

The bishop’s attorneys also say the 40 hours a month O’Brien is required to minister to the sick and dying could be too difficult for him at times because of out-of-town commitments. They have asked a judge to allow some flexibility in the number of hours the bishop must serve each month.
