…a novel highly recommended to me by a reader. I’ll be heading to the library/bookstore (whichever is closer) tomorrow on my rounds to pick it up:
The End by Salvatore Scibona
The reader says:
I have just read a phenomenal book entitled The End by Salvatore Scibona. The first 50 or so pages I thought , “Meh, it’s not awful, but I don’t quite get Annie Dillard’s glowing praise.” However, now having finished I am just blown away and need to really spend sometime thinking about and assessing the ideas brought forth. And they’re big ideas, fundamental discourse about how we live, how we are created, how losing our faith can destroy . It harkened to me of Faulkner and Dostoyevsky, but set in blue collar America.
Anyone read it yet?
