Obama appoints John Bryson, a known job killer, as his Secretary of Commerce
President Obama has failed our nation in so many ways. Perhaps his greatest failure is his inability to rebuild our economy, create new jobs and help small businesses thrive. Now, just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse, Obama has nominated a job killer to be his Secretary of Commerce.
President Obama has nominated John Bryson to serve as his Secretary of Commerce. Yes, this is the same John Bryson who was the leading proponent and defender of the job-killing cap-and-trade bill that threatened job providers across our country.
Perhaps even more troubling, John Bryson has worked for 40 years to impose mandates and expand government regulation on businesses. Bryson helped found the so-called “National Resources Defense Council”, one of the most extreme environmental groups in America, which has helped destroy untold numbers of jobs in their headlong pursuit of their extremist environmental agenda.
In addition to his founding of this extreme organization, Bryson is wrong on policy. His bad judgment and lack of understanding of the challenges small businesses face is clearly illustrated by his support of a national energy tax.
The American Conservative Union is going to take a stand and fight the confirmation of this job killer as Secretary of Commerce. We are going to stand up to President Obama and do everything within our power to urge the Senate to oppose John Bryson’s nomination.

Anonymous GOP officials claim commerce nominee John Bryson endorses world government
Supporting climate change policy is one thing, but is Barack Obama’s nominee for commerce secretary, John Bryson, an advocate for world government?
That’s the speculation raised by anonymous GOP sources on Capitol Hill, according to the conservative website the Daily Caller.
Bryson, former chief executive officer and chairman of Southern California energy conglomerate Edison International and co-founder of the Natural Resources Defense Council, has been under fire due to his support for clean-energy legislation. Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., called him an “environmental extremist” and Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., a global warming skeptic, says he fears Bryson would implement climate change policy that would hurt American businesses. Bryson’s nomination is also opposed by Massachusetts Democrats, Reps. Barney Frank and John Tierney, because of the NRDC’s fight for fishing-catch limits.
