A local grandma is in hot water after her 1-year-old granddaughter ended up with a bag of cocaine in her mouth.
According to the Lorain Police Department, Brytny McCall, 17, found her 1-year-old daughter Trnyty with crack cocaine around her mouth in the hallway of her home on Thursday, Aug. 19th. McCall opened the baby’s mouth and found a bag of cocaine.
McCall told police that her daughter, who is a twin, must have found the drugs in the home and that they belonged to her mother, Anna Irizarry, who allegedly uses cocaine.
Police seized the bag for evidence and called Lorain County Children Services to help investigate.
When Brytny’s mother Anna returned home from grocery shopping, Brytny accused her of leaving drugs around the house. Irizarry then told police on scene that Children Services were already scheduled to come take the children away from Brytny on Friday, Aug. 20th and didn’t seem concerned about her granddaughter’s incident. She also told police her daughter had a history of being unruly.
Trnyty was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment, she was accompanied by her mother Brytny. No word on her condition is available at this time.
Police arrested grandma Anna Irizarry for Endangering Children, Possession of Drugs Cocaine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
