Watchwoman: Advent was very big in our household. We marked it by cleaning a scrubbing the house thoroughly because every thing had to be clean in anticipation of Christ’s Incarnation on Planet Earth in a Human Body, when God became Man, by the Virgin Birth of Mary. God was Fully God and Fully Man! On December 6th my mother put up the wreaths. We were told to pray and know that Jesus was coming again and we needed to be prepared, not only for His First Advent, but for His Second. We were taught to live our lives in the present, like He was coming back with a Sword to Judge the Living and the Dead because, HE IS! My parents were Christians who read the Bible every day and prayed many times every day. They did these acts out loud in front of us children. We listened or we would have been corrected. But it’s not the 40’s and 50’s anymore. Post modernists, humanists, TV producers, news anchors, and public government school teachers all tout that they know better than the old-country, simple-minded European pious, Christian folks like my parents. So now it seems that Advent, Christ-based preparations are no longer needed. Now to prepare, all you have to do now is get ready for Santa, not Christ. Spend your money. Max the credit cards! And preparation for Satan (excuse me, I mean Santa) gets earlier every year. In 2011, watching TV commercials, I saw it start about two weeks before Halloween when the Wall Street brainwashing machine of clever ad men began to start brainwashing the sheeple, to get you thinking about buying every thing material, especially electronics and every expensive item in every store, even if it is just junk from a discount 99¢ store, to Wal*Mart, not overlooking, Toys R Us. For the richer crowd — you know the ones who still have jobs, the malls where specialty stores beckon offering to meet every whim and fancy. Then there’s the sophisticated crowd with appropriate sophisticated, elaborate, but tasteful decorations at the major department stores like Dillards and Macy’s for the upscale desires to be fulfilled. For the super rich it has to be the most expensive, the local equivalents of the shops located on Rodeo Drive in California, where prices are so outlandish only people in Hollyweird can afford to shop there. That’s the ultimate experience, and if you do shop those stores, then you know that you’re finally there, you’ve arrived, you’ve got it made, you’re a success! Church? Say what? You have no time for that. You gotta shop!!! Repeat that? Spend time in prayer! No!!! You’re waaaaaaaaay too busy! Listen to me, friends, S T O P – – – all that foolishness. There is only one thing that will matter to you and you can’t get it at a 99¢ store, nor can you buy it on Rodeo Drive either. It is priceless. It is far dearer than anything you can touch, see, smell, or taste. What you need is JESUS!!! You need The Holy King James Bible. You’re hungering for Salvation. The Gospel. The Ten Commandments. So Prepare. Celebrate Advent again! Because He IS coming again! You can base every moment of your life and every choice you ever make upon it! I can predict this with 100% accuracy!!! ▬ Donna Calvin

There can be no true peace, where there is not true grace; and where grace goeth before, peace will follow. This blessing is in the name of God, of the Holy Trinity, it is an act of adoration. The Father is first named; he is described as the Jehovah who is, and who was, and who is to come, eternal, unchangeable. The Holy Spirit is called the seven spirits, the perfect Spirit of God, in whom there is a diversity of gifts and operations. The Lord Jesus Christ was from eternity, a Witness to all the counsels of God. He is the First-born from the dead, who will by his own power raise up his people. He is the Prince of the kings of the earth; by him their counsels are overruled, and to him they are accountable. Sin leaves a stain of guilt and pollution upon the soul. Nothing can fetch out this stain but the blood of Christ; and Christ shed his own blood to satisfy Divine justice, and purchase pardon and purity for his people. Christ has made believers kings and priests to God and his Father. As such they overcome the world, mortify sin, govern their own spirits, resist Satan, prevail with God in prayer, and shall judge the world. He has made them priests, given them access to God, enabled them to offer spiritual and acceptable sacrifices, and for these favours they are bound to ascribe to him dominion and glory for ever. He will judge the world. Attention is called to that great day when all will see the wisdom and happiness of the friends of Christ, and the madness and misery of his enemies. Let us think frequently upon the second coming of Christ. He shall come, to the terror of those who wound and crucify him by apostacy: he shall come, to the astonishment of the whole world of the ungodly. He is the Beginning and the End; all things are from him and for him; he is the Almighty; the same eternal and unchanged One. And if we would be numbered with his saints in glory everlasting, we must now willing submit to him receive him, and honour him as a saviour, who we believe will come to be our Judge. Alas, that there should be many, who would wish never to die, and that there should not be a day of judgment!
