Watchwoman Editorial: You will read on comments left at various blogs from anti-Christian sheeple how Christian Pastor Salman deserves all he is getting (60 days jail time, 3 years probation, $12,180.00 in fines) for worshiping on his own property. You’ll read the same rhetoric and self-justification if you got a reply from the city of Phoenix’s mayor – like I received (see copy below) — justification for arresting a father of 6 for praying and praising God, the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost, on his own property. Well, don’t believe everything you read from anti-Christs and pretend Christians who control many offices locally, statewide and in the US Government today. Please, listen to this video below from “Fox and Friends” with Christian advocate, John Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute, < https://www.rutherford.org/ > a highly respected attorney and organization, who has been defending religious rights for many long years and doesn’t get involved in cases that are not valid. This “Fox and Friends” interview with Susanne Salman, while her husband sits in a Phoenix jail, and the Rutherford attorney is very good. So, may I remind you, just because someone writes a comment on a blog or the mayor of a city writes an email, don’t just jump to conclusions and believe Phoenix’s mayor who admits he defends “multiculturalism,” “diversity” and “Islam” in Phoenix. If you bothered to email him, then you too likely got that response from him and from one of the council people. Well, did you expect them to roll over and confess, “Gee, Mr. & Mrs. Christian American, you were right, we were wrong to have thrown Pastor Salman in jail and leave his 6 children without a dad while he does his time. We apologize and have released Pastor Salman and forgiven his $12K fines.” I think not! The city of Phoenix has every reason in the world to justify themselves, but will God? That is the question they will have to face at the White Throne Judgment! Amen? Amen!

Remember this, that David, even after he was anointed by Samuel to be King of Israel and sit on the throne in Jerusalem, David who was the rightful heir to the King’s Throne, not Saul, he knew better than to touch God’s Anointed and waited upon God to remove Saul and put him, David, on the Throne. Now if Pastor Salman is God’s anointed pastor and messenger of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, then all those who come against him are in grievous error and in great trouble, so be careful, my friends, before condemning this man and siding with evil doers in office today. Remember, my friends, you are only one accusation away from real serious issues with the anti-Christ government we have in charge in many places in the USA today, from the school house to the White House, local and national and international governments.

Read these scriptures: [Proverbs 17:15] He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.

Read: 1 Samuel 16:13-16 and continue on to understand how wrong it is to “to touch the Lord’s anointed.”

We are to fear God’s Laws, not man’s. We are to obey God, not man. (Acts 5:29)

MY EMAIL TO PHOENIX OFFICIALS

Subject: Stop the persecution of a Christian Pastor, His Wife and Six Children!

Dear Honorable Member Of Phoenix Government:

We are appalled and utterly disgusted after reading the national reports about Phoenix, Arizona, jailing and fining a Christian minister for having worship services in his home, where 30 or 40 Christians could gather, just as much as his neighbors could have regular poker parties – on their private property.

How can you do this to his six children? Have you no heart?

According to news reports, you have demanded that Pastor Michael Salman apply for “dozens” of city permits before he be allowed to worship on his property. These actions performed by Phoenix – including the jailing and fining of the minister – are certainly a blemish, a stain, and shameful.

We have been to Phoenix, many times, and have life-long friends in the area. We will avoid doing business with, or traveling to Phoenix for this outrageous action of yours!

I take note that you have just proudly given some sort of extra benefit to gay partners, as well as display, in your local museum, a city sponsored art exhibit titled, “Day Of The Dead” – how fitting.

Remember, God is not mocked — and He will remember forever what you’ve done.

Thank you for contacting me regarding this important issue. I have heard many passionate voices on the home/church life safety issue and I appreciate your thoughts and advocacy and take all communication from the public very seriously.

As a Christian and as Mayor of Phoenix, I cherish the diversity of religion that we have in this city whether that be Christians, Jews, Muslims, Mormons, Sikhs and all other faiths. Our city cherishes the First Amendment which requires the city to not discriminate against any expression of faith but also ensures that one church is not treated differently than any other.

The city’s sole concern in this matter is protecting life safety where the public assembles. In the case of Harvest Christian Fellowship Community Church, the church never asked for nor received an appropriate building permit. The permit would require an inspection of the building to ensure it complies with life safety requirements. This is the same requirement as every other church in our city.

The Phoenix City Prosecutor has briefed me on this issue and explained to me that Harvest Christian Fellowship Community Church, which has sought church status for tax exemption purposes, held services twice a week with gatherings of up to 80 people. From 2006 to 2010, Harvest Fellowship continued having services on the property, even though Pastor Michael Salman, owner of the property, was notified by the city to comply with building codes for life safety of those who attend; he refused. In 2010, a municipal court judge found Mr. Salman to be in violation of 96 Phoenix City Code violations, including building, fire, and zoning codes. Mr. Salman refused to comply with the codes, refused to follow the court’s order and was subsequently convicted of 67 misdemeanors. He was placed on probation for three years and ordered to obey the law, to pay fines and surcharges and to spend 60 days in jail. He continued to refuse to allow a life safety inspection. An Arizona Superior Court judge affirmed his convictions and sentence; the State Court of Appeals also denied him relief. The United States District Court denied Mr. Salman’s request to intervene.

As mayor, I will always do my best to ensure our city protects the first amendment rights of everyone. By the same token, I will also ensure life safety protections are appropriately enforced.

I hope this letter provides you a better understanding of the facts surrounding this matter. I look forward to hearing any additional thoughts, comments or ideas you have about this issue or any other issue facing our city.

Thank you for contacting Councilwoman Thelda Williams’ Office regarding Mr. Salman. Mr. Salman was operating a church, not a bible study. Mr. Salman had regular gatherings of up to 80 people. He held services twice a week and collected a tithe at the services. The building that he held services in had a dais and chairs were aligned in a pew formation. He held himself out as a being a church through the media (Harvest Christian Church) and claimed a church status for tax exemption purposes on his property.

Due to the regular, reoccurring high vehicular traffic in this quiet residential neighborhood, neighbors repeatedly complained about the public assembly occurring on his property. Because of the multiple, reoccurring complaints, the City investigated the activity and discovered numerous building code violations primarily related to fire safety standards. Once apprised of these violations, the City could be held liable for not enforcing safety code requirements in the event anyone was injured on the premises. Prior to commencement of prosecution, Mr. Salman was asked, repeatedly, to comply with the safety codes of the City. He chose to ignore these requests for voluntary compliance prior to the commencement of any proceedings.

All houses of worship in the City of Phoenix must conform to the same codes. Bible studies are held in private homes across the City every night. The issue is Mr. Salman was clearly operating a church. I hope the preceding information helps clear up the situation, please feel free to contact me with any questions.
