Watchwoman’s Editorial: ABC News reported the crime, but took the opportunity to spend more than half of their 5-minute report criticizing the Family Research Council, calling them “polarizing” and showing the Southern Poverty Law Center’s web site highlighting the areas where the SPLC calls FRC a hate group and other extremely derogatory names! ABC News is just appalling and hitting way below the belt! Now you know why I call ABC = Always Been Communist and/or Always Berating Christ/Christians/Christianity! The criminally negligent news media would never dare to speak like this in the same hour as a hate crime was committed upon other groups, including a sodomite group!  This kind of despicable reporting by ABC would never happen for a Muslim Mosque shooting or the Sheik Temple when it was attacked recently.  ABC God-haters only do it when Christians are attacked! The FRC is a Conservative pro-life and pro-traditional marriage organization which has been labelled as a hate group by leftists and gay rights organization in recent days. The gunman may have had more sinister motives toward FRC employees.

The organization that advocates for Christian values and standards was targeted this morning and police are investigating, according to a statement from FRC President Tony Perkins.

The group’s offices are in the 800 block of G Street NW, and police officials told reporters a suspect was in custody in the shooting.Fox News said, “A suspect walked in and started yelling about things they (FRC) supported and opened fire.”

The organization, founded in 1983, works to forward faith, family and freedom issues in the forum of public policy. They work through research projects, educating those on Capitol Hill and reviews legislation.

The FRC publishes books, provides experts to testify before Congress and has been active in revealing the pro-abortion and other agendas of the Obama administration.

Earlier vandalism done to a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Torrence, CA on Augsut 3, 2012, by a sodomite “artist” who bragged about his crime to the police.

A security guard at the Family Research Council’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. is being hailed as a hero after he stopped a gunman posing as an intern, taking a bullet in the arm before wrestling the suspect to the ground.

The gunman entered the lobby of the organization’s Chinatown headquarters around 10:45 and expressed disagreement with the conservative group’s policy positions, Fox News has learned. When the guard, who was not identified, asked him where he was going, he opened fire, according to police.

“The security guard here is a hero, as far as I’m concerned,” D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier said. ”He did his job. The person never made it past the front.”

The guard, who was not identified, was shot in the arm and was conscious after the shooting and was in stable condition. The gunman, who also was not identified, was being questioned by the FBI, sources said. Sources said he is in his twenties.

The suspect “made statements regarding their policies, and then opened fire with a gun striking a security guard,” a source told Fox News. WJLA-TV7 reported the suspect was also shot. Sources also said the gunman may have been carrying a bag from Chick-fil-A, the embattled fast-food restaurant whose president came under fire from gay activists after he said he did not agree with same-sex marriage.

Sources told Fox New that after guard took away his gun, the suspect said, “Don’t shoot me, it was not about you, it was what this place stands for.”

Authorities were treating the attack as a case of domestic terrorism, although James McJunkin, the head of the FBI’s Washington Field Office, said authorities do not yet know the gunman’s motive.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A law enforcement official says a suspected gunman made a negative reference about the work of a conservative Christian lobbying group before shooting a security guard. The guard, who was an employee of the FRC, was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

The reference was made in a confrontation in the lobby of the Family Research Council in Washington Wednesday morning. The official spoke only on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.

Another law enforcement official identified the suspect as Floyd Corkins II. Authorities were interviewing neighbors in Corkins’ neighborhood in Herndon, Va., on Wednesday evening.

After being shot in the arm, the security guard and others wrestled the suspect to the ground and he was arrested.

Tony Perkins, President of Family Resear Council“Our first concern is with our colleague who was shot today,” the group’s president, Tony Perkins, said in a statement.

Perkins was an outspoken defender of Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy’s public stand against same-sex marriage, which made the fast-food chain a flashpoint in the nation’s culture wars. The Cathy family foundation has funded the Family Research Council.

“He’s taking a bold stand,” Perkins said after Cathy’s comments were reported. “Chick-fil-A is a Bible-based, Christian-based business who treats their employees well. They have been attacked in the past about their stand. But they refuse to budge on this matter, and I commend them for what they are doing.”

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said in a statement that he was appalled by the shooting. “There is no place for such violence in our society,” he said. “My prayers go out to the wounded security guard and his family, as well as all the people at the Family Research Council whose sense of security has been shattered by today’s horrific events.”

The headquarters of the Family Research Council is in the city’s bustling Chinatown neighborhood, near the Verizon Center, the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery and several museums, restaurants and shops.
