Comments From Gary Bauer Re: Rush’s statement…
Sequester Armageddon?
To hear the breathless media reports you would think that we are on the verge of an economic collapse, not because of our runaway debt but because of spending cuts ranging from $22 to $85 billion (the sequester) scheduled to be implemented on March 1st. The budget this year is $3.7 trillion, which is the same as $3,700 billion, and we are being told that not spending 1/43 (on the high end) of that $3,700 billion will destroy us!
Rush Limbaugh was right yesterday when he said this about the crisis:
“What’s happening here, folks, is we are being played for fools and being suckered — suckered into supporting the never-ending expansion of government, the wholesale destruction of the private economy. Everybody who joins in this debate under the premise that Obama puts forth, as well as debating the politics of this nonsense, is just being used to cover up what’s actually going on. Now, what’s going on is no great conspiracy. It’s no mystery. We’re spending much more money than we have.”The government is getting inexorably larger.”It’s less and less efficient at accomplishing anything. We’re creating more and more dependents. We’re robbing people of their dignity and humanity and of their opportunity to realize their dreams as they turn their lives over to the government. It’s like a never-ending cycle. The government makes the private sector smaller. There are fewer job opportunities. There’s less money in the private sector, less opportunity to accrue wealth. Income taxes and others threaten to go higher; they do go higher.”It all adds up to the government growing, the private sector shrinking, freedom being lost ever so slowly, and nobody ever talks about stopping this.”
Well said, Rush.

Item #2 of 2 from Fox News (Includes Rush’s video and Michelle Obama’s videos)
“For the first time in my life I am ashamed of my country.”
Published February 21, 2013 – Fox News
SEAN HANNITY, HOST: Tonight, for those of you who have not heard yet, comments made by Rush Limbaugh earlier today on his radio program, they have gone viral and even caused his web site to crash from all of the traffic. Here is what he had to say.
RUSH LIMBAUGH, RADIO TALK SHOW HOST: Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in my life I am ashamed of my country. To be watching all of this, to be treated, to have my intelligence, all of us to have our common sense and intelligence insulted the way it’s being, is — it just makes me ashamed.
Seriously, man, I mean, they get worked up over$44 billion, that’s the total amount of money that will not be spent that was scheduled to be spent this year. And in truth, we’re going to spend more this year than we spent last year. We’re just not going to spend as much as was projected. It’s all baseline budgeting, there is no real cut below a baseline of zero, there just isn’t.
And yet, here they come, sucking us in, roping us in, panic here, fear there, crisis, destruction, no meat inspection, no cops, no teachers, no firefighters, no air traffic control. I’m sorry, my days of getting roped into all this are over. We have the media play along with all this. The ruling class, both parties play along with all this. It’s insulting, I don’t know how else to describe it. I’m into my 25th year. I can’t tell you the number of times — this hit me yesterday, I’ve said the same things over and over for 25 years, that whether it’s the Clinton presidency, or the Obama presidency, whether it’s a Pelosi speakership or Tom Foley who was speaker when I started. It’s the same stuff. It’s the same threats, it’s the same arguments over and over. Nothing ever changes. We just keep spending more money. We create more dependency. We get more and more irresponsible, one crisis to the next, all of them manufactured except for the real crisis which nobody ever addresses and that is, we can’t afford any of this.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: And joining me now with reaction, Fox News political analyst Juan Williams and the CEO of HermanCain.com, now a Fox News contributor. Welcome to the team.
HERMAN CAIN, FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR: Thank you. Good to be here.
HANNITY: Nine-nine-nine. Welcome aboard.
You know, and I know Juan welcomes you as well.
JUAN WILLIAMS, FOX NEWS POLITICAL ANALYST: I just want to say that to him, Sean, welcome, 9-9-9, I love it, Mr. Pizza.
CAIN: Thank you, Juan.
WILLIAMS: Mr. Pizza. All right.
HANNITY: I’ll take mine with pineapple and — well, forget it.
(LAUGHTER)
You know, it’s funny because I first saw the headline on Drudge today and I thought, all right, what did Rush say?
CAIN: Yes.
HANNITY: I wanted to hear it.
CAIN: Yes.
HANNITY: And I really — I thought about this and I read his comments in total and I started thinking myself about what he was saying. Here we live in the greatest country that God gave man — you believe it, Juan believes it, I believe it, Rush believes it. It is embarrassing, Herman, that so many people are suffering needlessly.
It’s embarrassing with our wealth and all that we have, that 50 million Americans are on food stamps, one in six Americans are in poverty, it’s embarrassing we import oil, and we have more oil than Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia combined. It’s embarrassing when the president is a demagogue and goes around the world apologizing for America? And these are dumb things — giving Egypt F-16’s.
CAIN: Right.
HANNITY: This is embarrassing.
CAIN: Listen to what Rush said.
HANNITY: Yes.
CAIN: It’s insulting to continue to insult the intelligence of the American people. We don’t have leaders in elected positions, we don’t have a leader in the White House, we have a politician that is more concerned about popularity and he intentionally and deliberately, along with the Democrats, deceived the American people. That’s what Rush is saying he’s embarrassed about. It is outright deception and I don’t have a problem with what he said.
He also said it’s insulting to not believe that most of the American people have some common sense. Look, 51 percent of the voters elected Barack Obama. Forty nine percent of us are not that stupid. That’s what he was saying. So, don’t throw all of us into that pie because the 51 percent put him back in office. It’s insulting to the intelligence of the American people over and over and over.
HANNITY: Juan Williams?
WILLIAMS: Well, I take a different point of view from my friend Herman Cain.
HANNITY: Shocker.
WILLIAMS: I just — one of these guys, and I thought two of you were, who love America and you know, America first.
HANNITY: So does Rush, Rush loves America, too.
WILLIAMS: Look, America makes a mistake, I don’t care if you’ve got a right wing president, a left wing president, this is America, this is the land of greatest opportunity. There’s nothing to be ashamed about. If you want to blame America first, if you want to be part of that crowd, maybe you want to go to Hollywood and join those celebrities who say, they’re going to leave the country if their candidate doesn’t win the election.
And, you know, what I hear from Rush Limbaugh, Limbaugh is always saying, oh, you know, what? I hope he fails. Remember when he said that about Obama? I don’t hope America fails and I’m not ashamed of America.
HANNITY: I did an interview with them when he said it. Excuse me.
WILLIAMS: Well, I mean, it’s just —
(TALKING OVER EACH OTHER)
HANNITY: Socialism will always fail was his point. I mean, liberals never understand Rush, it frustrates me. All right, Juan, you’re so outraged. Now I’ve got the intellectual honestly test for you.
WILLIAMS: OK.
HANNITY: Not once, but twice, we have the tape. Let’s listen to what Michelle Obama said about America.
WILLIAMS: Sure.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIPS, FEB. 18, 2009) – Michelle Obama
FIRST LADY MICHELLE OBAMA: And let me tell you something, for the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.
OBAMA: For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m proud of my country, and not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. And I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: She’s nearly 40-years-old and for the first time in her adult life she’s proud of her country? Rush has always been proud of his country, Juan.
WILLIAMS: Well, not today, apparently he’s ashamed, I think that’s why his computer’s blowing up. But I mean, when Michelle Obama said that I got in trouble because I was critical of her, I said she couldn’t pull this — Carmichael thing and hope to be a good first lady. And you’ll notice, she’s pulled back. But that’s not the point here, tonight. The point is, as we deal with this sequestration issue, Sean, we have to say, how do we get a deal? Not start turning on each other and pointing figures and saying you’re ashamed of America.
HANNITY: Isn’t it embarrassing that the president of the United States of America, Mr., I want to travel $180,000 an hour, that he can’t cut — that we’re going to spend more money this year, as Rush just said, than we spent last year and yet, they’re demagoguing this issue, putting fear into the hearts of the American people and frankly outright lying while he’s still stealing from our children 46 cents of every dollar.
WILLIAMS: What’s the lie about losing 1.4 million jobs, that’s no lie, that’s a reality?
HANNITY: That’s a lie. That’s a lie.
WILLIAMS: Oh, gosh!
CAIN: Juan. All right. Juan, for a moment just listen, OK? I know it’s difficult my brother, but just listen. I’m embarrassed that we have an administration that ignores the debt, ignores an economy that is struggling — remember, it contracted in the last quarter, it is projected to contract some more in the first and second quarter — ignored 23 million people who are out of work, ignoring the fact that unemployment rates are going to go up, ignoring $86 trillion in unfunded liabilities. I’m embarrassed about that because the people in office that can do something about it are not doing anything about it.
WILLIAMS: Herman Cain. Herman Cain, good point.
CAIN: So, don’t attack Rush Limbaugh —
WILLIAMS: Herman Cain you’re a successful businessman. Herman Cain, you’re a successful businessman, you have just made a bottom line argument that I love. Because if you look back at the last quarter of last year, what do you see? The Defense Department pulled spending and what happens? The GDP, the economy slows down. Now we’re approaching a sequester, they’re going to pull money, Helter Skelter from every sector, what do you think that’s going to do to our economy? What they’re going to do to our economy?
CAIN: Juan, you’re dead wrong.
WILLIAMS: It’s going to hurt America.
CAIN: Juan, you’re dead wrong. Those weren’t the factors that caused the economy to contract. Trust me.
WILLIAMS: That’s what the economy said, Herman.
CAIN: Those are the wrong economists. Why don’t you listen to the 80 percent that are analyzing all of the factors, that’s what they’re not doing, Juan.
