Have you ever been on a walk and been absolutely amazed at God’s creation? It has happened to me many times. For example, take the feeling of the crisp cool air, the smell after a rainstorm, the beauty and intensity of a lightning strike, or the colors of a summer sunrise or sunset. The smell of spring flowers. The beauty of little kids playing on the playground, not having a care in the world. The beauty of a child’s laughter. Seeing dogs and the joy they bring people, not just their owners. Every time we step outside, no matter the weather, it is an opportunity to enjoy God’s creation. He allows us to view things that He made for us to enjoy.
The changing of the seasons is another aspect of God’s creation for us to enjoy. In the winter, we see snow falling to the ground and peacefully blanketing the earth, until it turns into a blizzard. Kids get many days off from school because of the snow. No kid ever complains about that. Also in the winter, we can take in the beauty of the snow on the trees and the light of the sun sparkling more.
How does God know just the right time to change the world from winter back to spring to start to warm things up again? We may not ever know that answer, as to why and how He chooses to change the seasons. He does it probably so we can enjoy the different sights and sounds and not to mention, the feelings that come along with each season.
Then in summer, we get even warmer temperatures and we see even more beauty. The grass grows back and kids are able to spend more time outdoors, as are adults. In summer, there are picnics, cookouts, and bonfires galore.
With fall, comes the changing of the leaves, crisper, cooler air, sweatshirts, bonfires and cups of hot cider.
There are many verses that tell of the wonders that God has created.
Genesis 1: 1-2 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” God is the creator of everything and has perfect plans for each being and each aspect of His perfect creation.
Hebrews 3:4 “For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.” Since God is the builder of everything, He can’t ever make a mistake.
Psalm 139:13-14 “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” This verse says that every person is a gift from God and a gift that should be treasured. As stated before, God never has, and never will make a mistake. Every child that comes into the world was, is and never will be a mistake. Children are brought into the world for us to enjoy, teach and to treasure.
Then there are the animals of God’s creation. The Lion, Tiger, and yes, the Bear, oh my. Some animals are created so we can have food, such as the Duck and the Deer, while others are created for the delight of all of us, such as the birds, bees, and even the alligators. Dolphins always have brought me delight. The way they sound, and swim so gracefully in the ocean.
The ocean is another aspect of the world to enjoy. There are many different ones to enjoy as well. There is nothing better than finally getting to the ocean, after a long flight or a long drive. That feeling of finally winding down and being able to start a much-needed vacation, never gets old. There is nothing quite like the feeling of the crisp cold water hitting your feet, the feeling of the cool sand and the taste of the salty sea air. All these things God created for us to enjoy. He knew where to separate the sea and the land.
Genesis 1:9-10 says, “And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.”
Being able to observe the many wonders God has set in front of us is a huge opportunity and a gift. It is an opportunity to get to know yourself more and find your place in this world. It is also an opportunity to get to know more about the animals and other creatures and to teach others about them. It is an opportunity to teach and show others how there is a God in the world, even while people may think that He doesn’t exist. Through observing the many wonders of creation, maybe you’ll find your calling.
