Have you ever been caught daydreaming about what Heaven would be and will be like? Have you ever wondered what it will look like, what God will look like and who from your life you will eventually see there? Have you ever thought of how glorious it will be to finally be face to face with our Savior? A song that talks about that first encounter with God is “Face to Face”, by the American Idol winner and Christian singer, Mandisa. The lyrics are as follows:
1st verse: “Some days, I dream about Heaven. And some days, I wonder what it’s gonna be like. When I’m leaving behind the pain of this life. And sin is just a memory. ‘Cause one day I’ll get to look You in the eyes. I can’t wait to be where You are. Close enough to feel Your heart. Face to face. Face to face with You, my Savior. I’m learning that the world I know. Is never gonna feel like home. ‘Til I’m face to face. Face to face, with You my Savior. We should feel that same amount of excitement about when we get to Heaven. We should have the same feeling that we can’t wait to be where He is and to be face to face with Him for all eternity. We can dream about Heaven all we want, but it won’t even come close to the beauty of it when we see it for the first time in person. How can we not winder what it will be like to leave this world behind and let sin be a distant memory?
Second verse: “Oh some days, the world is just too much to take. And some days, I’m barely hanging by a thread. But I won’t let all of my fear, cripple me here. When I should be rejoicing. ‘Cause I know the beauty that waits ahead. Chorus: I just wanna be where You are. Close enough to feel Your heart. Face to face. Face to face with You my Savior. I’m learning that the world I know. Is never gonna feel like home. ‘Til I’m face to face. Face to face, with You my Savior. “Some days this world and all of the pressure in it can feel like it is weighing us down to the point where we can’t even take it anymore. Some days were barely hanging on. But we shouldn’t let any fear cripple us, because we should be happy and rejoicing, not to mention ecstatic about the beauty of Heaven that awaits us in the future. We’re learning that this world we know probably will never quite feel like we belong here and that we aren’t home until we’re face to face with our Lord and Savior.
Bridge: “We’ll sing Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord. Like a sea of voices praising Your name. Every nation, every tongue, will bring You glory. And we will worship You, our God, Face to face. I can’t wait to be where You are. Close enough to feel Your heart. Face to face. Face to face, with You my Savior (with You my Savior). I’m learning that the world I know. Is never gonna feel like home. ‘Til I’m face to face. Face to face, with You my Savior (with You my Savior). It is mentioned in the Bible that when we get to Heaven we will worship God forever, without ceasing. Every nation, everyone will bring Him glory and worship Him face to face. I know I can’t wait to be where He is and close enough to feel His heart and to be able to worship Him forever in the glory of eternity with all of my fellow believers.
Can’t wait to be with You. Can’t wait to be with You. Face to face. I, can’t wait to be with You. Can’t wait to be with You. Face to face. Can’t wait to be with You. Can’t wait to be with You. Face to face. I, can’t wait to be with You. Can’t wait to be with You. Face to face. ”
We can continue to look forward to the promises we have in store for us in Heaven. We can look forward to our lives and our future with the fact that we are saved by God’s and Jesus’ promise. We can rejoice that nothing compares to the beauty of our Lord and savior. We can also rejoice that even though this life can bring us down, God will eventually let us in to Heaven, where we can worship Him, finally face to face. Nothing will even come close to being in front of God face to face. Look forward to that day when you get to see Him.
