Jesus gave you the power to have control over your life. He allows you to have the confidence in Him as well as in yourself to face anything that comes your way. The same power that rose Him from the grave is the exact same power that is within you. Next time you feel discouraged remember you have Him and His power within you. Jeremy Camp’s song “The Same Power”, gives you a deeper glimpse into His abilities for you.
First verse: “I can see waters raging at my feet. I can feel the breath of those surrounding me. I can hear the sound of nations rising up. We will not be overtaken. We will not be overcome. I can walk down this dark and painful road. I can face every fear of the unknown. I can hear all God’s children singing out. We will not be overtaken. We will not be overcome. The same power that rose Jesus from the grave. The same power that commands the dead to wake. Lives in us, lives in us. The same power that moves mountains when He speaks. The same power that can calm a raging sea. Lives in us, lives in us. He lives in us, lives in us.”
No matter the waters that are raging in our lives, the love of God is always in our lives. With everything that we see going on in the news such as nations rising up around each other and all the wars going on around the world. God is still there in the midst. All of us can sing out that we will not lose our faith or be overcome by the evil of this world. We can and will keep our faith in God because He is the only reason this nation is still standing.
Second verse: “We have hope that His promises are true. In His strength. There is nothing we can’t do. Yes, we know. There are greater things in store. We will not be overtaken. We will not be overcome. Chorus: The same power that rose Jesus from the grave. The same power that commands the dead to wake. Lives in us, lives in us. The same power that moves mountains when He speaks. The same power that can calm a raging sea. Lives in us, lives in us. He lives in us, lives in us. Greater is He that is living in me. He’s conquered our enemy. No power of darkness. No weapon prevails. We stand here in victory.”
We can walk down the painful roads of life and realize that God is always with us no matter how horrid things seem. We can face every fear of the unknown in the darkness of the night. As God’s children we can pray to God at anytime, anywhere. Even though times are hard, God is always there in our midst.
The amazing thing is that the power that rose Jesus from the grave is the exact same power that lives in us. The same power that causes miracles to happen in our lives. Sometimes miracles happen when we least expect them to happen. That’s the ultimate power of God. The same power that helped Jesus calm the sea of Galilee also lives in us. We have some of the power that God has. Why not use them and ask Him to reveal them to us? Ask God to continue to fill you with His Holy Spirit. If God can change the weather just by speaking, imagine how He can change your life. If God can change the weather just by speaking imagine the power that He gives to all of us to spread His word and His love in others lives.
Bridge: Greater is He that is living in me. He’s conquered our enemy. No power of darkness. No weapon prevails. We stand here in victory. Oh, in victory.”
God has already given us the victory through having salvation and faith through Jesus. Jesus saved us, and God gives us the power to withstand the things that come our way and try to sway us to turn away from Him. God is greater than the enemy. He speaks the truth and Satan speaks lies. With God on our side no power of darkness ever prevails. We can stand with each other knowing that we have victory in our faith and through our faith in our savior Jesus Christ.
We have the ultimate hope that everything He tells us is true. In Him there is nothing we can’t do. Remember that the next time you feel down and think that you can’t accomplish anything. Don’t believe the lies that Satan puts in your head. There is nothing we can’t do with the power of Jesus in our lives. No matter the hardships in our lives there is hope that there are greater things in store for our lives. With God in control of our lives He will do things way better than we could ever imagine.
Chorus: “The same power that rose Jesus from the grave. The same power that commands the dead to wake. Lives in us, lives in us. The same power that moves mountains when He speaks. The same power that can calm a raging sea. Lives in us, lives in us. He lives in us, lives in us. God, he lives in us.”
Thank God for the power that He has. He is willing to share it with every single one of us. How can we not take Him up on His offer?
