Bible time

We shouldn’t be afraid to spread God’s word. Letting others know about God should be one of our biggest privileges. We are often afraid though to tell others about Him because we think what will others reaction be to me telling them about God? Will they laugh at me, ridicule me or persecute me for my beliefs or the way I feel? What if someone thinks I’m crazy for telling them and others about God? We often let all these things drive us to the fear of never wanting to confess our love of and for Christ. We shouldn’t let the fear within us stop us from sharing the good news about God. Take heart and take courage in your faith walk. Always have the guts to talk about God with others. It could help change someone’s life and it could even save someone’s life. It will definitely change and awe your heart to see someone else life be transformed by God.
Sharing God’s love with others can be as simple as praying in Bible study or praying for others alone. It can be as simple as giving someone an encouraging word or cooking a meal for someone in need. It could also be volunteering your time at church or at a soup kitchen for the homeless. It is even as simple as reading your Bible with your kids or family on a day to day basis. Being kind to others who are unkind to you is another example of sharing God’s love. Not talking back to others who ridicule you is another example of showing His love.
When Jesus was persecuted and crucified, He was mocked, spit on and left for dead. He didn’t speak up against His accusers. He even loved the people who persecuted Him and were crucifying Him. He prayed for them saying, “Father forgive them. For they know not what they do.” We can learn from His example by being brave and try to pray for our enemies during our own struggles. We may not always have to be silent among the people that hurt us, but letting Jesus have the last stand is always better than seeking revenge on anyone ourselves. He even says to us in the Bible that judgment is His alone to provide. Romans 12:19 says, “Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.” Even though at times we might feel as though it is our time to place judgment and come down on someone hard for the things they have said or done to us, leave it to God to take care of whatever they’ve done. Give your anger towards anybody to God. Let Him fill your heart soul and mind with the peace that He alone can provide. Once you let your anger towards someone go, the peace that fills you is known as the peace that surpasses all understanding.
Let love flow through you instead of hate. Showing love to others even when they hurt you is exactly what God wants you to do. He will give you the right words to say to someone who has hurt you. He will certainly give you the opportunity and the right frame of mind to forgive someone who has wronged you as well. Even though being God’s child and following His example is exhausting, not forgiving others is one of the hardest things on you both physically and mentally. If you carry anger towards someone in your heart it will eat at your heart, your soul, and your mind. It could even eventually destroy you. Don’t carry the anger towards them forever, because if you do then you will miss the peace that comes with His forgiveness. If you don’t forgive someone else for the sins they’ve committed against you, then God won’t forgive you for the sins you’ve omitted against someone else or against Him. You don’t want to be dammed into hell because of your decision to not forgive others, do you?
Remember the Bible verse in Mathew 25:40: “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ “Be as nice as you can to anyone you come across. You never know what they are going through in their life. Be a blessing and be a friend. Whatever you do in God’s name, He sees it and he will reward you for it in Heaven. Be the person who isn’t afraid to stand up in their faith and spread the goodness of God and his love to others. Ask Him to help you figure out ways to be nicer to people and give you the courage and the strength to persevere through tough times. No matter what happens, be brave and spread His word. Don’t let anyone stop you from telling others the goodness of your Savior and the truth of His word.  Through showing His example of love and by being His followers, you can be the hands and feet of Christ.
