Have you ever wondered what His plan is for your life? Have you ever had a conversation with Him where He reveals His plan for your life to you? Have you ever had a vision of what you want to do with your life only to have it turned upside down and have Him use you for the greater purpose of bringing Him and His kingdom glory?
How about having everything planned out in almost flawless detail just to have God put on your heart that you have gotten the wrong idea about where you should go in your life? When you think He doesn’t have anything good planned for you, that is when He normally shows up and He shows His full glory and power to you in order to strengthen yourself and your faith. Right when you are about to give up hope on anything ever happening, He will allow things to happen in the way He wants it to happen. He will help you make the right choice to do what He wants you to do in your life.
It is often when you think that nothing can happen in life, God reveals His plan for your life, not just to prove His power and might to you, but He also does it to restore your faith in Him. He wants you to have that trust in Him again too.
Even when it is the last thing you want to do, just bring the way you feel to God and ask Him to help you to keep the faith. Pray until you start to feel better. Prayer is the ultimate connection between you and God. You can come to Him at any time and anywhere. He hears the cries of your heart through your tears and silent cries within your heart. Even when you can’t figure out how to tell Him how you feel, He already knows. He will give you exactly what you need through prayer. He will fill you with His peace.
Pray something like this, “God I know you know the feelings in my heart and you have seen me struggling in life. I know you know the plans that you have for me. I’m grateful and thankful that you’re always with me. Thank you for always being there for me. Help me to speak your words of truth and to lead others to Christ. Help me to not lose my faith. Guide me in your ways, teach me where I need to be in life. Tell me where I need to be in my career, relationship and love life, and guide my footsteps keep my eyes focused on you.”
“Keep my mindset as calm as possible so I can continue to do your work. Help me to enjoy life and to take the time to discover where you want me to be in every aspect of my life. Help me to understand the truth of your word when you say that you know the plans you have for me. Help me to trust you. Help me to remember that you haven’t failed me yet, nor will you ever fail me. Keep my strength up. Please continue to be with me as I walk through this journey called life. Help me to not get too discouraged. Lead me in your ways, Lord. Help me to figure out my true calling from you. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.”
He has a greater plan than you can ever imagine. Look at where you are at in your life. You’re right where He wants you to be. Even if you don’t like where you are at, He has you there for a reason. God has a greater purpose for your life than anything you’d ever expect. He knows you wouldn’t and won’t be able to do things on your own. Maybe your plan was to become a missionary, but His plan is for you to stay in your home community and serve people there. Or, maybe you thought you were supposed to be a big CEO of a company when your true calling is to help the homeless or the needy.
Another example is maybe you thought you were supposed to be working full-time and that you shouldn’t have kids, but you found your true calling is to be a stay at home parent. Maybe you thought you weren’t supposed to be married, but God knew who He had planned for your life and blessed you with an awesome spouse. Maybe you never thought things would get better for you and your family member, but God gave you the right words to speak to them in order to bridge the gaps. Maybe you were thinking of giving up your search for a full-time job, when all of a sudden, He told you exactly what you can do with your skills.
God can take a mess and turn it into a masterpiece. He can turn your life into a mission field. His plan is greater than the plan you have for yourself.
