Recently, I wrote a blog on verses that can help get you through hard times. There are so many more that I wanted to include. The Bible is so full of encouragement, so why not rest upon some of these verses to uplift your spirits?
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him, we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Romans 5:1-5
Suffering can be one of the hardest things we go through, but it can also shape us into greater and better individuals and better Christians. They can even enable us to witness for Christ and show others His love through telling our stories. Everyone deserves a chance to say to the world that they are saved by faith and not by the works they do in this life.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13 God wants us to abound in hope and have joy in our lives, otherwise He wouldn’t even say it in the scriptures. God gave everyone the words to write in the bible anyhow, so it helps to read them and to treasure them in your heart.
Keep your life free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:15. This verse reminds us to not love money, otherwise, we will be led astray. We should all be content with what we have instead of being envious or jealous of what others have.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jerimiah 29:11 This is one of my all-time favorite verses in the entire Bible because it says smack dab to everyone that He knows exactly how He wants our lives to play out. Not only that, but He has plans to offer us a good life with hope and a future. That statement alone should fill us with hope
Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! 1 Chronicles 16:11 Whenever we feel weary or tired in any way, we should seek His strength and lean on Him. He wants us to call on Him no matter what we may be feeling or what we may be experiencing.
No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.” Isaiah 54:17 No matter what may be against you or who might be against you, you can stand against it and be firm in your faith.
“Is not the Lord your God with you? And has he not given you peace on every side? For he has delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land is subdued before the Lord and his people. 2 Chronicles 22:18 When you rest in Him, He will give you complete peace. Don’t you want complete peace?
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6-7. This verse basically speaks for itself. We literally don’t have to be anxious about anything in life. Instead, we can turn our anxiety into prayers and ask God to take away any anxiety or uneasy feelings we may be feeling. We don’t have to carry the feeling of anxiety around in our hearts or in our minds either. We can freely give it up to God. He offers to carry everything for us anyhow, so why not take the burden off our shoulders and find some peace by giving everything that is on our minds up to Him?
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22. If we give our burdens to the Lord, He will replace them with His peace that makes our troubles seem not as big.
What other verses do you turn to when you need a lift in your spirits? What verses do you regularly meditate on?
