Have you noticed that you feel down and more upset than you used to? Are you wondering why that it? Are you letting your emotions control your life? Start taking control of your thinking. If you always talk and think negatively about yourself, then you will only reap negative results in your life, throughout life, and in the end, you will miss so many great opportunities in your life because you are complaining and talking negatively. You will miss the blessings that will come your way and the blessings that are right in front of you now.  You will miss the joys that come with enjoying life every day. You will only be focused on how stressed you are instead of how blessed you are. You will see everything as a burden and an inconvenience in your life. You may not want to spend time with people anymore, or they may not want to be around you because of your attitude with always thinking bad things about life. Remember that saying “if you can’t say anything nicer, then don’t say anything at all.”

Instead of talking negatively about life and about yourself you can start thinking and saying positive things in your life. You have all the power within you to speak positive affirmations about yourself. Look how blessed you are. You’re alive, you can read, speak, write and you’re in the free country of the United States. You have a job or are in the process of getting a job. You have a family that loves you and would do anything for you. You are blessed beyond belief. You have food in front of you whenever you are hungry. There are so many more blessings that you can have in your life if you can speak positively.

Instead of thinking, “I can’t do this.”, start saying things like “I know God is with me and I know I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. If I dwell in the secret place of the most high, I will dwell in the shadow of the Almighty.” “Even though I may not know where my life is going, I trust that God is working through me, for me and for my good. I trust that where He wants me to be, I will be able to go. Even though it may seem hard right now, He will provide all I need to support my body and life. Even though it may be difficult to keep the faith, I know God has a better plan for me than I ever could have for myself.  “I can and will get through this. There is nothing I can’t do with Gods help.” “God will make a way when there seems to be no way.” ” I can defeat Satan and his lies with the power of God within me.” “God loves me. I know I am His child and He will get me through this.”

Start and keep reciting scripture. Memorize it and say some of the scriptures such as Philippians 4:13 when you start to doubt yourself and your ability. Speaking scripture as positive affirmations over your life it will only help and strengthen your mind and increase the peace you have within your heart.

As stated before, if you are constantly thinking negatively and saying negative things every day and see every day as a burden, you’ll only reap negative results. It takes discipline to not think negatively especially when it is all you’re used to and all you’ve known. It takes courage to get out of the funk of thinking that nothing good will ever happen in your life. You are the only one who can control your emotions and your thinking. You are the only one who can help yourself start to enjoy life and start to think positively about things again. If you haven’t found happiness lately, start asking yourself what you have been focusing on. Have you been focusing on the way tasks and people burden you and weigh you down?

There is also nothing wrong with telling Satan to get behind you and to stop corrupting your mind in the name of Jesus. Remember, He gave you scriptures and His words for a multitude of reasons. It was to strengthen your relationship with Him and to strengthen your faith. He also gave you His truths in scripture because He wants you to have His power within you. Knowing you have Gods power already within you is a great way to fight off Satan and his many lies. Remember, God wants you to be happy in life. Even though hardships will come, He will give you a way out of them.

Start enjoying life by helping yourself think and say positive things to yourself. Say something positive every day. Maybe you can say something such as, “I will get the job. God will lead me down the right path. I’ll be able to do whatever I need to do today while serving Him in His name.” You’ll be amazed at how much better you will feel and how much your life will change.
