Esterlyn takes break from touring for month-long mission trip to Amsterdam

Worship band Esterlyn recently took time away from the road to spend a month sharing their faith in Amsterdam where they played music in the streets, handed out Bibles and CDs while encouraging the people there–primarily in the notorious Red Light District.

“It has definitely been stretching my comfort zone to just set up in the piazzas and start singing,” lead singer Luke Caldwell said on the band’s website. “We have been amazed to be able to share and pray with prostitutes and even give them bibles. It amazes me that we as Christians have the answers to the fulfillment so many people are searching for…we pray God continues to gives us boldness as we go out each day and night seeking to serve and save those who are lost in their sin. God really offers us freedom.”

Esterlyn’s debut CD Call Out (which released last summer) is doing well in the U.S., and its version of the Hillsong United hit “Freedom Is Here” is charting on Christian CHR radio. The Boise, Idaho based band won’t be in the States for long. They travel to Mexico in September for another mission trip.
