I was watching television the other day, and there was a woman who had lost a whole lot of weight. She had worked so hard and gotten really thin, but she said that when she looks in the mirror, she just can’t believe it because her mind hasn’t caught up with her body yet!
Have you ever had that happen where something was a certain way for a long time, and then it changed and you were sort of in shock? You thought, “I can’t believe that happened to me!” Well, sometimes we have to let our minds catch up with reality. I’ve found this same thing to be true in the supernatural realm.
Sometimes you may think you’re not free, you may still have that bad habit, or you may still be stuck in a difficult situation. But, you have to realize that the day you said, “Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior,” scripture says you passed from a state of being in bondage to a state of freedom! You passed from darkness into His marvelous light! Now, you have to let your mind catch up with the truth of God’s Word which says that “He whom the Son sets free is free indeed!”
Today, if your mind is stuck in the past or stuck with old, negative thinking, it’s time to renew or reprogram your mind. How do you reprogram your mind? With the Word of God. When you meditate on His truth, it will set you free. When you declare His promises, it will set your focus. When you keep your mind stayed on Him, you are renewing your thoughts.
Remember, through Jesus, you are a new creation. The old is gone, and it’s time to embrace the new that God has for you. Even if you can’t see it, even if you don’t fully understand, take a step of faith and declare His Word. Declare, “I am more than a conqueror! I am the head and not the tail! I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might!” As you meditate on His Word, your mind will catch up, and you will be in the position to receive all the spiritual blessings He has prepared for you!
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17, NIV)
