There’s a young man I know with a beautiful family. He was working at his job, being his best each day and always keeping a good attitude, but there wasn’t any room for growth at that company and no opportunity for advancement. One day, another friend told him about a position that was opening up at his company. My friend read the qualifications, and although he didn’t have the experience and all the education they wanted, he felt like he should apply for the job. After he was interviewed, they said they would get back with him in about a week.
Well, a week went by and he didn’t hear anything. The negative thoughts started coming. “You’re not going to get it. You’re not qualified. You’re going to be stuck at your same position for the rest of your life.”
His wife could tell something was bothering him. She said, “Honey, quit worrying about it. God is in control. It’s in His hands, and if He wants you to have the job, you’re going to get the job.” So instead of worrying about it, every day they started declaring Ephesians 3:20. “God, You said You would do exceedingly, abundantly above and beyond.” They were speaking unprecedented favor and releasing their faith for God to do something awesome in their lives.
Three weeks later, the vice-president of operations at the new company called. And instead of giving him the salary listed for the job, which was 10% more than the man was currently making, the vice-president offered him the job and gave him a starting salary that was 40% more than he was currently making! He said, “I tried to stay calm, but I was jumping up and down on the inside.” He was astounded and amazed by God’s faithfulness, His unprecedented favor!
If God did it for him, He can do it for you. That’s what it says in Exodus, “God wants to do something awesome, something that you have not seen before.” That young man had never seen a 40% raise. Here’s the good news: if you have seen it, then you know that your future is going to be even greater. If you think you’ve seen God’s goodness in the past, get ready because God wants to do something greater in your future. Keep praying, keep believing, keep hoping and keep being faithful because God will be faithful to you! It won’t be long until you will see something astounding, something remarkable, something overwhelming from God coming your way!
