Do you ever feel like you are not growing enough spiritually? You are doing all the right things- attending church, reading the word, praying, maybe even part of a small group, or if you’re like me attending conferences too. “Fill me up Jesus!” However, you still feel stagnant. You wonder when God is going to get this show on the road. I would look up sometimes and just ask, “Are you still here? Knowing full well he is and always will be. “I have made it more about me than him again,” I tell myself.  I want him to catapult me  dead in the center of something “BIG” and “Extravagant”.  I am tired of the waiting. Many Christians wrestle with this issue of not feeling like they are growing or still unsure where God wants them or what they are supposed to be doing.

We have taken our eyes off of Christ and put them back on what we think we need to be doing more of.  We think that our growth depends on us and we have to work to achieve it. How often we forget that Jesus died on the cross so we could live abundantly in Christ, a true authentic personal relationship with God. It is a gift! A gift is not something we earn but something we receive, a blessing.

I love this quote because it reminds me I’m right on schedule and that God has not forgotten about me. I love him so much for knowing me…

Ive learned that I am growing spiritually even if I don’t feel like it. As long as I wake up and keep pressing into Christ, no matter how boring or repetitious life can be, there is growth and its greater than my feelings and my circumstances.

The gospel is the good news but it’s so much more than that, It’s a real relationship with communication, ideas, exchanges, thanksgiving, and trust. This journey is not just about getting from point A to point B. It’s a continuous journey of receiving from our God that really loves us warts and all.

I know such a gift is hard to digest. We think, “where are the strings??? because that unfortunately is the way a lot of people live in this world? There are no strings attached with God. God does not want you imprisoned, He wants you free.

I am so humbled when I think of the majesty of God and something releases inside of me. My breathing steadies, my mind gets refocused, I feel safe again, and my heart opens back up. I am His and He is mine. “Yes, Lord you are right on time and perfect in all of your ways.”
