This is a quick post before I head for John Wayne Airport in Orange County. I’ve driven valiantly in LA these past five days, but my only freeway experience was Sunday when there was no traffic, so today will be the test. It’s funny, what takes courage. For me, a New Yorker who seldom drives, the LA freeways are a major test of faith and moxie. I know other people drive them daily with impunity. A large part of my work is speaking for audiences, some of them huge. I love it. I’m never more comfortable than when I’m telling my stories and moving people to laughter and tears, even though I know that many people do whatever they can do avoid speaking for groups. It’s all about facing what’s before us today. What’s ahead of you? Whatever it is, you don’t have to do it alone.

I’ll give you the full LA trip report tomorrow — some amazing things. I see why people move out here … the beauty, the flowers, the warmth. I’ll let you know how much of that was diminished by driving to the airport in traffic.
