Not only is a revival of the quintessential ’60s musical Hair opening on Broadway this spring, but many astrologers agree that the “dawning” is finally over and the arrival is nearly here – happening, ever so delightfully, on Valentine’s Day.

When I wrote last Friday that I’d have a Valentine’s Week surprise today, I didn’t know what that would be. I just figured that I couldn’t live a whole seven days without coming upon something splendid, but I didn’t imagine it would be a whole age – and one that we baby-boomers have been humming about for decades now. And yet, at a business networking meeting the other day (Jennifer Wilkov of Your Book Is Your Hook taught us how to better navigate the social networking sites), one of the lovely participants, Aryn Quinn of Beauty Cares (a nonprofit that assists survivors of domestic violence), shared the following:

“At dawn on 14th February the Cosmos actually embodies this perfect alignment to support our collective manifestation of love and peace…the Age of Aquarius.

“The Aquarian chart of 14th February reveals expansive Jupiter and energetic Mars aligned with the higher purpose of the North Node. The presence of Chiron, the wounded healer, offers us the opportunity to heal the schisms that have separated us for so long. Neptune emphasizes collective humanitarian movements and the co-creation of social justice. And the presence of the radiant Sun enlightens the entire alignment.

“Mercury also in the twelfth house but just beyond the cusp in Capricorn, allies with transformational Pluto to communicate and anchor the shift throughout our global structures and institutions. The Moon in Libra in the seventh house [I am so hearing The 5th Dimension!] emphasizes harmonious relationships. Venus in Aries in the first house energizes and empowers dynamic co-creativity.

“And whilst Saturn, the great task master, in opposition to Uranus, the unexpected awakener, is suggesting an ongoing confrontation as the dregs of the unsustainable old paradigm reluctantly give way to the untested hope of the new, their placements in Virgo and Pisces bring practical altruism and visionary inspiration to the transition.

“At 7.25am on 14th February – and for the 18 minutes of the alignment, I invite you, in the universal heart, to add your own intention for love and peace and to co-create the dawning of the Age of Aquarius to that of the Cosmos. [That’s 7:25 Greenwich Mean Time, 2:25 a.m. Eastern Standard, 11:25 p.m. Friday night Pacific.] In whatever way feels appropriate for you, you may choose to align at that time with energizing a wave of intention that will surge around the Earth.”

Wow.

Of course, a lot of stuff comes around online without much vetting, so, one would ask, does everybody agree on this? The answer: no, they don’t. My daughter did some research and found all sorts of contrary opinions claiming that we won’t enter the Aquarian Age until 2012. One curmudgeon is holding out for 2060! But I see it this way: we need it now. Do you know that song from the musical Mame, “We Need a Little Christmas”? The song shows up when Mame and her little family are in the middle of the Great Depression. They still have their home, but very little else. It’s a bleak November. They sing that even though “it hasn’t snowed a single flurry, but Santa, dear, we’re in a hurry – We need a little Christmas now!”

Well, we need a little Aquarius now, with all that “harmony and understanding, sympathy and trust abounding.” I for one plan to set an alarm for 2:25 New York time Valentine’s morning. And I’ll meditate for eighteen minutes (give or take) and hold our planet in the Light. And tomorrow I may just wear my peace-symbol tee-shirt from a tourist shop in Woodstock, just to celebrate. I mean, this kind of thing only happens every two millennia. If indeed tomorrow really is the day, I’m not about to miss it.
