As a money coach, I often ask my clients to reflect on what they
believe would make them happy. Although their answers vary, they
frequently say “I’d be happy if I were rich.”
Recently, it’s become clear to me that almost everyone has a different
picture of what “being rich” looks like. While most people believe
that it requires a lot of money to live a life dedicated to the pursuit
of our dreams and purpose, I have found that with enough passion and
determination, we are all capable of living a rich life, regardless of
our financial circumstances.
Some people are gifted in the “art of living rich.” Their lives are
tapestries of their own invention woven out of their passion for doing
what they love and an underlying belief that they would do it with or
without the money. Sometimes, because these adventurous souls have
been willing to move through life without a safety net, they not only
lived richly, they became wealthy as well. However, making money was
seldom their “goal.” They were simply dedicated to living their life
intentionally and purposefully. The wealth they eventually created simply manifested as the result of and reward for their efforts.
So, I encourage you to follow the direction of your heart and not your
wallet. It is important to remember that there are certain risks in
waiting before you jump-start your life. One very real risk is that it
may never happen. So, wherever you are in your life right now, this
moment is the best time to begin taking steps toward the “art of
living rich.”
Here’s an exercise to help you explore your own journey
into the “art of living rich.” May it lead you to the rediscovery of a
dream that you misplaced or reconnect you to a passion that still longs
to be fulfilled. Let your imagination run free and see where it takes
you. And most of all…have fun and enjoy the ride!
Send in your responses to the questions below: I’ll post the most inspiring responses next week and the winner will receive a complimentary copy of my book, Money Magic:Unleashing Your Potential for Wealth and Prosperity.
Exercise:
1. If money were not an obstacle and you had all the financial resources necessary to live your life completely in alignment with your passion and purpose, what would you do differently?
2. What part of this vision can you actually begin doing now?
3. What’s stopping you?
Peace & Blessings!
