Help a Friend
We've all seen the status updates and wall posts. So-and-so is having a bad day and she's announcing it to her friends. She's annoyed with a work project, her boyfriend dumped her, she's on the verge of losing her job, and—to top it all off—the supermarket no longer stocks her favorite ice cream. It's easy to ignore Debbie Downer, but instead of scrolling past such depressing declarations, reach out. Offer to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Even if you can't fix the problem, taking the time to acknowledge what your friends are going through will make them feel loved. And, chances are, it'll make you feel better too.
