6 Celebrities Who Are Clearly Not Over Their Exes

Why do breakups hurt so much? The reasons for breaking up in every relationship may be different but post-breakup emotions are universal. We think breaking up is tough but it’s really getting over the breakup that’s hardest to do. Sometimes the recovery period after a failed relationship lasts as long, or longer than the relationship itself. It can also be difficult to tell if you’re over an ex. After sharing a significant chunk of your life with someone, it makes sense that they’d remain perpetually in your thoughts, at least to some capacity. These celebrities know how tough getting over the break up is. They’ve seen broken vows, and the splits of both long-term and short term relationships, and they just don’t quite seem like they’re entirely over their previous relationships. Here are six celebrities who are clearly not over their exes.

Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez started dating in 2010 and have been in an on-again off again relationship before calling it quits by 2015. In an interview with W Magazine, Gomez said she was over the instability in her relationship. “I’m so exhausted. I honestly am so done. I care about his health and well-being. But I can do it anymore,” Gomez said. However, letting go appears to have been even harder for Bieber. He isn’t ready to completely give up on them, even if their history has been unsteady. In an interview with Billboard, Bieber said, “I’m proud of the woman she is today. When you love someone that much, even if something that comes between you, it’s a love that never really dies.” His social media activity also doesn’t show that he’s over his ex either. On Instagram, he recently posted a throwback picture of the couple kissing and captioned it, “Feels.”

Brandi Glanville

Brandi Glanville was married to actor Eddie Cibrian for 8 years until he had an affair with country singer LeeAnn Rimes in 2009. The high-profile affair tore their marriage apart, especially when Glanville found out Rimes wasn’t the only woman he was seeing. Glanville didn’t make the divorce proceedings easy either, telling her listeners on her Unfiltered podcast that Cibrian had to work to get her signature. She also entered a very public Twitter war with Rimes, with some exchanges getting pretty ugly. While many of her friends have encouraged her to let go and move on from the affair, she continues to discuss the fall out to this day. “I think that it’s because a lot of women and men kind of brush it under the rug, and not a lot of them take the low road and fight back,” she said.

Robin Thicke

Robin Thicke and actress Paul Patton ended their marriage of 9 years in 2014, with Patton citing irreconcilable differences. The two had one of the longest spanning relationships in Hollywood, having gotten together as teenagers and a relationship that spanned more than two decades. When they separated, they made a civil announcement: “We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.” But Thicke wasn’t quite over things. At the 2014 BET Awards, Thicke performed but not before dedicating his song to Patton, saying, “I’d like to dedicate this song to mu wife, and say, ‘I miss you, and I’m sorry’ This is called ‘Forever Love’” He later released an album about their relationship, unsurprisingly titled “Paula.” It was a huge flop and Thicke later admitted that his record company didn’t want him to release the album in the first place. He acknowledged that what he thought was romantic was embarrassing. Since their split, Thicke has dated a few younger models which doesn’t convince us that he’s over his marriage.

Sharon Osbourne

Despite 33 years of marriage, Sharon Osbourne ended her relationship with heavy metal rocker Ozzy Osboune in 2016 after rumors surfaced that he cheated with his hairstylist. On her daytime talk show, The Talk, she said that she was confident she made the right decision: “It’s right for me because honestly at this point today have no idea what I’m going to be doing for the rest of my life,” she said. “I don’t know where I’m going, who I’m going with. And I just need time to think. And really think about myself, about what do I really want for…Because I’m 63 years of age and I can’t keep living like this.” But Osbourne’s actions say that she’s not completely there yet. She still works as Ozzy’s manager, and she attended the Download Festival in Donnington, UK in June 2016 where she had been seen taking pictures of the show and smiling while he played. With over 30 years of marriage under their belt, the fact that they are still connected is not surprising. Ozzy doesn’t seem to be over the marriage either, given he still wears his wedding ring.

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick ended their 9-year relationship in 2015. While they were never married, it almost seemed like they were, with us watching their relationship ups and downs unfold on the reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians. They have three children together. Rumors swirled that they separated because of Scott’s partying ways and that Kardashian’s refusal to marry Disick began to weigh too heavily on the relationship. But despite the breakup, Disick is still trying to win Kardashian’s love. Disick recently shared that he wants to impress his ex as they get closer on KUWTK. Though he has battled drinking and prescription pill addiction, he is trying to battle those demons and win his family back. “I want her to see that I can keep it together,” he said.
