Finding “the one” isn’t an easy task. Some people would rather be single than experience the peaks and valleys of dating. Instead of spending time on dates that don’t go well or dealing with the heartbreak of an unsuccessful relationship, they’ve found happiness in other parts of their lives. Some celebrities have discovered that they’re better off being alone and have effectively given up on dating for good. For these stars, they would prefer spending time with friends and family, not swiping on dating apps. Here are some celebs who have given up on dating.
Diane Keaton
Diane Keaton has been in some high-profile relationships in the past, but she’s never been married and hasn’t been on a date in over 30 years. In fact, the actress said she can’t see herself going on any dates any time soon. She told AARP that she doesn’t date and said she doesn’t remember anyone calling her to set up a date, calling it “highly unlikely.”
Julie Bowen
Julie Bowen split from her husband, Scot Phillips, after almost 15 years of marriage in 2018. Since then, she’s been happily single. She says she’s retired from dating and even bought herself a special retirement gift. During an appearance on “The Ellen Show,” Julie said she was done with dating and that her dog was a retirement gift to herself.
Linda Evangelista
Linda Evangelista says that, at this point in her life, she’s simply no longer interested in dating. The supermodel recently shared that she hasn’t dated anyone since before her plastic surgery procedure that left her “deformed” in 2016. In an interview with The Sunday Times, she said that she wasn’t interested in dating and that she didn’t want to sleep with anybody anymore or hear somebody breathing.
Moby
Moby says after his last relationship, he’s done dating for good. In 2021, the musician shared that it’d been five years since he dated someone, and he really liked his life of “monastic living.” He told People Magazine that he likes to stay friends with his exes, so when a relationship ends, he tries to take three to six months without going on another date out of respect for the person he just dated. However, in this case, six months passed, and he realized how much pain dating had caused in his life. At that point, he decided that he was done with dating.
Patti LaBelle
Patti LaBelle shared that she wasn’t interested in dating again at 77 in 2021. She explained that she lived a fulfilled life and didn’t need a partner to complete her. She told People Magazine that she was living her life like it’s platinum, and she appreciated the fact that she had so many people who cared for her. She also shared that she lives alone with Mr. Cuddles, her dog. However, it may appear that her thoughts on dating have changed, as in 2023, she said she was somewhat open to dating because she’s too good to be alone.
Sharon Stone
Sharon Stone has been known to pop up on dating apps occasionally, but after spending so much time swiping, the actress says she’s done with dating. In 2020, Stone explained that she realized that most people weren’t worth her time, and she enjoyed her family and friends more. During an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” she said she didn’t have time for insincerity and game planning and preferred her alone time.
Amber Rose
Amber Rose doesn’t have an issue with the idea of being single for the rest of her life. She says that right now, the dating pool is “worse than ever,” and she’s almost entirely given up on finding a partner. On the “Sofia with an F” podcast, Rose said that men are disgusting, and she was okay with being single for the rest of her life. She added that she didn’t want to share her life or house with anyone and that she didn’t want anyone around her children, saying that she was content with not sharing her bed with anyone.
These celebrities have chosen to spend time catering to self-love and loved ones over dipping their feet back into the dating pool. We can’t say if these decisions will change any time soon, but for now, these celebrities are okay with flying solo.
