5 Celebrities Who Are Bible-Believing Christians

The term Bible-believer may seem redundant. You’d think if an individual resonates as a Christian, then they should believe everything that’s written in the Bible. Well, that’s not completely true because some Christians do believe that there are some errors or contradictions. In order to be a Bible-believing Christian, you must believe that all 66 books of the Bible are the word of God. Many high profile people in the entertainment industry have spoken up in interviews and other platforms declaring their Bible beliefs. These individuals truly believe that the Bible is 100 percent accurate and they have dedicated their life and following to the values that are instilled within the works. For these celebrities, Bible-believer is not a slogan or a trend; it’s a way of life.

Bible-believers believe that the Bible is more important than the church because, ultimately, there wouldn't be a way to study the history of our religious beliefs if we didn’t have the written word. While many churches will argue this stance, there are many arguments that can and have been made to support the ideology behind Bible-believers. On one occasion or another, these celebrities have not only professed their devotion and love for Jesus Christ but have also announced their undying support for the Bible itself. Some of these names are not at all surprising; however, some of these names may spark an interest to research further, and learn who truly believes what. Keep in mind that being a Bible-believer is just a stance within Christianity and it’s doesn’t take away from other Christian believers.

Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow has become a star both in sports and faith. The media has had somewhat of a field day with Tebow’s love for Jesus. Many may wonder why he feels an overwhelming need to shout out to God in just about every interview or discussion. However, think of it in these terms – when you first fall in love with someone, don’t you get excited and talk about your newfound relationship every opportunity you get? While Tebow’s love for God is far from new, his undying devotion keeps the relationship new and shiny.

There is no doubt that Tebow has definitely backed his love for God with his philanthropic work across the world. He is also willing to lend a helping hand to any charity and can oftentimes be found at children’s hospitals making a real difference. Tebow’s actions mirror those gestures that the Bible refers to as charity and giving back to your brother.

Supermodel Kathy Ireland has openly referred to Jesus Christ as her best friend. While many people would shy away from being so vocal about their relationship with Jesus, Ireland has mentioned on several occasions that she believes in Jesus and what the Bible says. At 18-years-old, Ireland’s mother placed a Bible in her daughter’s suitcase. After suffering from jet lag, loneliness and boredom, Ireland picked up the Bible and began reading it. In an interview with The Christian Post, Ireland said, “I picked it up and randomly opened up to the Gospel of Matthew. And as I read, my life was forever changed. I was a rebellious teenager. I was questioning authority – who really knows the truth? Who really knows what is right and what is wrong, who’s to say? And I knew that what I was holding in my hands was the truth." For a while, Ireland admits to being what she refers to as a baby Christian. Even though she believed that she was a true Christian, she tried to mold God into what she wanted him to be rather than allowing him to mold Ireland into the person she was supposed to be. There was a moment after Ireland had her third child that she realized she couldn’t do things halfway anymore, and being a baby Christian wasn’t enough. She went in full circle and hasn’t turned back since.

Stephen Baldwin

Stephen Baldwin has decided to openly discuss his Bible-believing faith on the red carpet and in the films he makes. Making faith-based films has become an outlet for Baldwin to express his love for God and his overall beliefs as a Christian. Baldwin has acted in ten faith-based films, and he has no plans to stop any time soon. Baldwin didn't always have such a God-driven life. In his earlier years, he struggled with various lawsuits, legal troubles and drug abuse. After the September 11th attacks, something happened within Baldwin, and he changed. He sought out Jesus Christ as his savior, and he became a born-again Christian. That same year, Baldwin partnered with Mario D'Ortenzio and Bobby Brewer to found the Breakthrough Ministry, which was designed to utilize extreme sports as a ministry via arena tours. Later Baldwin would also launch Antioch Ministry and the Now More Than Ever ministry as well. Today Baldwin travels to other countries and foreign cities to speak about his Bible-believing faith.

Sherri Shepherd

Sherri Shepherd has said on numerous accounts in various interviews that without God in her life, she would be in jail, on drugs, or even dead. When Shepherd was a host on "The View," she would often discuss her faith and how it related to many aspects with discussions that were debated on the show. Shepherd even credited her faith as the reason for leaving. During her last show, she said, "You guys know that I often talk about my faith. I'm a woman of faith, and seven in the Bible is the number of God's completion. And I've been here seven years, and my time at 'The View' is complete."

Shepherd has said on the show and in interviews that she is God-driven. Whether it's saying a prayer or writing 'God bless you,' Shepherd believes that God can make everything better and facilitate a smoother life.

Best known for his role in TV's "Duck Dynasty," Phil Robertson has often been cast in the limelight of Hollywood because of his willingness to speak out as a Bible-believing Christian. In his early 20s, Robertson excessively drank alcohol, and his issues caused a brief separation within his marriage. All of his problems innately led him to the path of God and provided a religious awakening to help him get through his struggles. Robertson is a devout Christian and is a member and elder at the White's Ferry Road Church of Christ in West Monroe.

Robertson never steps down or shies away from speaking loudly about the Bible and how his beliefs mirror those written in it. You would think after many years of outspoken support and love for Christianity that the media wouldn't be surprised when Robertson enters the platform and speaks about his beliefs. However, the media continues to print headlines that are not at all surprising to anyone that knows or has heard of Robertson. His belief system is based upon the Bible, and he never backs down – no matter if it's live television or commentary in one of his published books.

Celebrity Bible-Believers Exist Everywhere

Bible-believers exist everywhere – in your neighborhood, at your job, at the grocery store, and as you can now see, also in the entertainment industry. While some Christians may have discrepancies with the Bible, Bible-believers do not. In fact, these Christian supporters wholeheartedly believe that the Bible is the final defining factor. Having these well-known figures in the limelight will help educate others who may not know the ins and outs of the Bible. In fact, having their undying support will further help other Christians to fully understand what scripture and other biblical lessons are really saying – and ultimately will be able to relate them to their everyday life.

It's amazing to see how media outlets objectify or over sensationalize the headlines that circle around the well-known Bible-believers. Even though it's not a breaking story that these celebrities are followers of Jesus Christ, somehow, their story is always made to be more prominent just because they wholeheartedly believe the Bible.
