Mary Poppins flies into the Banks' household, seemingly to rescue the family from burning through the entire inventory of nannies in town, but one thing we notice right off the bat is Jane and Michael immediately pay attention to her and are just in awe of her - though this is likely due to her 'bottomless' carpet bag and outings that start with jumping literally into artwork. Most scenes have her teaching small lessons of manners and patience and respect, but all of these add up when she addresses their father - and the fact his life is far more challenging than they imagine. After time, her communication tactics and approach to education pay off and each member of the entire family learns to forgive each other for perceived faults and embraces one another openly.
