"Not a Faith Film"
This is not a faith film, Heaton stresses during Beliefnet’s set visit.
“Every movie is a faith-based movie. It just depends on what they’re [public] putting their faith in. I actually think the minute you label it faith based, you ghettoize it and then you eliminate a bunch of people because they will just not go see it if that’s what they know it is,” she says.
“I see this movie as a family comedy about some Christians. There are so many expressions of Christ in our society and some of them are hilarious. It’s really fun. I would never just do a movie because of the message. The script has to be good; the actors have to be good. If everything around it is not good that message is not going to get out there. You really need to be excellent as scripture calls us to.”
