Known for his work in launching popular R&B group sensation, Destiny’s Child, propelling his daughter Beyonce to stardom, Matthew Knowles is turning his attention to a higher calling. Matthew is the founder, President and CEO of Music World Entertainment, a leading entertainment and music conglomerate dedicated to bringing quality entertainment.
Knowles plans are to focus on Music World Entertainment’s growing gospel and inspirational label, World Music Gospel, with a roster of artists including Brian Courtney Wilson, Trin-i-tee 5:7, Micah Stampley, Juanita Bynum, Vanessa Bell Armstrong and others.
Recently, Beyonce officially announced she’s parted ways with her dad. There’s seems to be no love lost between father and daughter as this was reportedly a business decision. “I am grateful for everything he taught me,” Beyonce said in a statement. It’s possible this split is a blessing in disguise as Beyonce’s been force to up the ante with her music and image given the influence Lady Gaga is having in the charts, a move far removed from Matthew’s gospel preferences.
Matthew admits, “My plans include focusing on my label’s work in gospel and inspirational music.” On Februray 16, 2011, Knowles was appointed to Board of Directors of Gospel Music Association, known as the face and voice of gospel and Christian music, for his creative business and management expertise.
According to the Billboard’s 2010 year-end issues, Music World Entertainment ranked in the Top 5 of 10 in nine of the eleven gospel charts. Music World Gospel was #4 on the Hot Gospel Songs Imprints chart, #6 on the Hot Gospel Songs Label and #9 as the Top Gospel Label. Clearly, Matthew is fully operating in his God-given purpose and paving the way for many artists to reach their own destiny.
