The Wells Theater
Downtown Norfolk is littered with skyscrapers, restaurants, cafes and historical structures all within walking distance. One structure that always fascinated me is the Wells Theater that opened in 1913 and is located on Tazewell St. and Monticello. Many famous faces performed at the theater including Will Rogers, Fred Astaire and many other notables. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Virginia Stage Company currently hosts a variety of plays with cozy seating today at the first movie house in the Southeast. With its Beaux-Arts architecture, the theater is camera worthy and transports you to a simpler time.
