What Foods Can I Eat?
Buddhists believe in non-violence and this also goes hand-and-hand with the foods they elect to eat. "Aware of the suffering caused by the destruction of life, I am committed to cultivating compassion and learning ways to protect the lives of people, animals, plants, and minerals. I am determined not to kill, not to let others kill, and not to support any act of killing in the world, in my thinking, and in my way of life,” wrote Thich Nhat Hanh. Buddhists eat vegetarian meals that consist of beans, carrots, potatoes, eggplant, ginger, and tofu are just some of the great ingredients used to make meals. There is limited snacking in the Buddhist diet except for fruits and vegetables. Very healthy!
