5 Ways to Pray the Rosary More Deeply

In the Catholic Church, the rosary is one of the most cherished prayers. For Catholics, it is a powerful prayer of intercession to the Blessed Mother. Praying the rosary is promoted as a means of strengthening one’s faith, resisting evil, growing spiritually, and generally benefiting society. The rosary is still the easiest ways to acquire the ancient skills of meditative prayer, and it is believed by Catholics to be the most effective way to gain the graces that this way of prayer can obtain. While almost every Catholic owns a rosary, not all Catholics know how to pray this prayer of intercession. Many find praying the rosary to be difficult. You may understand the importance of the devotion, but it still may not come easy to you. You may not have a problem saying the prayers but it may come in when trying to transform the words into a heartfelt prayer. Many books and online resources will tell you how to say the rosary, with only a few instructing how it should be prayed and knowing this is so important. Schedule the Time

How do you pray the rosary when life gets busy? We all value prayer and we know we need it. But when life gets bust, taking time to pray can slip through the cracks. With so many competing time demands, it can seem difficult to find an opportunity for good prayer time. When it’s finally quiet and no one’s expectations, demands or checklists can get to us, we may finally breathe. We have permission to just simply be. When you find a pocket of quiet, you realize your heart really misses prayer time. We miss nearness to God. You miss the peace of His presence and the joy of simply being refreshed by His Word. That’s why it’s so important to take out time to pray.

Ask Mary For Help

In the rosary, we ask Mary to “pray for us sinners” – in other words, to join us in our prayer. Mary is “favored” by God and “blessed among women,” according to the angel Gabriel (Luke 1:28), because of the role she plays in fulfilling God’s plan of salvation. So reciting the Hail Mary – a prayer rooted in the Gospel of Luke makes sense: We ask Mary to join us in our prayer just as we would ask any close friend to pray with us, but Mary is much more than just another friend; Jesus appointed her as our “spiritual mother” (John 19:27). At the same time, the rosary is a profoundly Christ-centered prayer. When we ask Mary to accompany us in praying the rosary, she leads us to Jesus (John 2:5). As you pray to Mary, don’t be afraid to ask her for help.

Listen to What God is Telling You

God is faithful to His promises, and God promised to answer our prayers. “And I tell you, ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find, knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened” (Luke 11:9-10). If God promises to answer our payers, He will do so infallibly. But in prayer, there are two sides: he who asks and He Who gives. It’s important that when we pray the rosary, we listen to what God is telling us. Prayer must also be humble. We can’t look at prayer as writing a check based on our good credit to buy a favor from God. We must approach prayer knowing that, as sinners, we really have no credit with God and that we are totally reliant on His infinite goodness.
