The Bible is a solid foundation of encouragement for those seeking physical, mental and spiritual help. Healing scriptures, oftentimes, provide the assistance Christians need. The Bible speaks often of the miraculous healing through the work of Jesus Christ and having faith in God during tough times. This remains true for us today who may live with various ailments and who have many struggles. Here are 10 healing Scriptures of the Bible to consider today.

1. Isaiah 41:10

As much as it pains us to face, we were called to suffer. As long as we live in the world, there will be sickness and disease. The good news is that Isaiah 41:10 tells us that we don't need to be afraid. "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." When we need healing, we may become fearful that God will forsake us. This is why we need healing Scriptures to come to our rescue and to strengthen us.

2. James 5:15-16

James instructs to call on the elders of the church to pray over us, so they can anoint us with oil in the name of the Lord. When there is more than one person praying it can be powerful. If you add a healing Scripture to this? Well, it's quite extraordinary. Jesus echoed what James said about bringing people together to pray. “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by My Father in Heaven."

3. Isaiah 53:5

Jesus took our sins and our pains to the cross. "He took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered Him punished by God, stricken by Him and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds, we are healed." Remind yourself of this healing Scripture in Isaiah when you are grappling with uncertainty. You can record it on an index card to be reminded of this when fear starts knocking.

4. Deuteronomy 7:15

Another healing Scripture can be found in Deuteronomy 7:15: "The Lord will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you." If God delivered Israel and took away His people's pain, surely, He can do the same today.

5. Psalm 34:19

Do you want deliverance from pain? Read Psalm 34:19 . "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." This is simple, but a compelling message of truth. There are a lot of instances when things do not have an answer. We’ll scratch our heads and worry ourselves because we cannot identify reasoning, but healing scriptures like this one has the power of providing an answer – and that is the Lord. Christians understand the Lord’s power and identify the deliverance as part of His plan.

6. Matthew 8:5-8

When Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him: “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.” And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word and your servant will be healed." Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. It only takes one touch from Him to be restored as Matthew shared. Understanding the Lord’s touch will help you on your journey to healing.

7. Mark 1:41

Jesus then went to the synagogues throughout Galilee preaching and casting out demons. A man had come to Jesus with leprosy and begged to be healed and cleaned. Jesus was indignant. He reached out His hand and touched the man. He said according to Mark 1:41: “Be clean!” Today, you can start taking charge of your health and tap into the power of Jesus by confessing your own needs and remembering this as you turn to healing scriptures. God can and will provide assistance to His children, but you must first communicate with him through prayer.

8. 2 Chronicles 7:14

In 2 Chronicles 7:14, we're taught to be humble and repent when seeking the Lord. "If my people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." Healing scriptures, like 2 Chronicles 7:14, remind us that the Lord will forgive us from all sins. He understands that we will make mistakes from time-to-time; moreover, he encourages His children to come to him and ask for forgiveness and healing.

9. Psalm 103:1-5

Another potent healing Scripture of the Bible can be found in Psalm 103. It's a Scripture on restoration, praise, forgiveness as well as healing. "Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagles." What a great reminder of who God is and how He can liberate us!

10. Jeremiah 33:6

Jeremiah is another reminder that God will bring back our health and even our wealth! "Behold, I will bring it health and healing, and I will heal them and reveal to them an abundance of prosperity and security." Abundance, healing and protection? Sign us all up for this one!

Dealing with sickness, no matter where it originates can weaken our spiritual armor. God knew what we would face on Earth and sent His Son to deliver us from it all. He also sent His Word, which will never turn void. Take these healing scriptures to heart today and allow them to sink deep into your heart. We leave you with Psalms 29, which illustrated that we are a blessed people. "The Lord sits on the flood; yes, the Lord sits King forever. The Lord will give strength to His people; theLord will bless His people with peace."
