Allow Him to Defend You
When we are fighting against people and evil circumstances, we want justice. Jesus taught that the Kingdom of God does not respond to earthly violence but with the grace of God! This is not a favorite of ours as we could be hurting from someone who sinned against us. Jesus can call down fire and brimstone against our enemies, right? He sure can, but He doesn't operate like that all the time. “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in Heaven, for, in the same way, they persecuted the prophets who were before you." We know that bitterness can destroy your spirit and can harm the body over time. Jesus is telling us to allow Him to deal with it His way. For example, when Jesus was arrested, one of the disciples went for his sword to use against the guard and Jesus stopped it because repaying with evil gives the devil more power.
