Be Prepared
Prepare for Bible study, the same way you’d prepare for a quiz – by studying. Remember back to your school age days when you’d review your notes and the text the night prior to the big quiz. You’d highlight the important points, you’d make reference notes on items that you deemed important and you’d places post-its beside other areas that you didn’t quite understand. You should view a Bible study session with the same direction and course of action. If you’re not prepared, then you won’t know what to expect.
Think about it, when you have an important meeting at work you prepare yourself and run down the important elements that you’re going to go over. Participating in a Bible study group should be recognized with the same importance and preparation. If you’re organized then you’ll have the ability to have a real discussion with the other participants in the group. Furthermore, your willingness to plan will help you identify relatable elements that are being discussed and your points may even influence someone else.
