Lesson #7: Value a life that pleases God over a life that pleases people
This is one of the main reasons, God refers to David as a man after His own heart. David was human and made plenty of mistakes. What made him different from others is that his desire and motivation was always to please and be in relationship with God. When Saul sinned, he was concerned more about disappointing “the people” then obeying God. David was the complete opposite as he says, “Against you, you only, I have sinned.” People pleasing is a trap, but a life that pleases God will always be blessed.
