Pray at Work

There is a beautiful photo circulating on the internet of a surgery team, with hands joined and heads bowed in prayer in the operating room. Praying is a wonderful way to begin the workday! If your company allows prayer or doesn’t have a policy expressly forbidding it, ask a few co-workers if they would like to join you. Be sensitive to those who might not want to pray publicly (or at all). You might start with a small group and gradually add others who would like to join you. There’s a good chance that many of your co-workers would appreciate such a gesture, but might not have the courage to take the lead. If group prayer is discouraged or inappropriate in your workplace, then you can certainly spend a few moments each day in quiet prayer on your own.
