Prayer is the single most intimate way an individual communicates with God. As Christians we put Jesus first and everything else comes second. A relationship with Jesus is no different from any other – in order for things to work there must be communication. Short prayers are one of the many ways Christians can effectively communicate with their Lord and Savior.

Jesus understands that your day-to-day actions can be constraining. We all have schedules and a list of to-do’s that accompany those every day actions. Therefore, in order to maintain a close relationship with God it’s imperative to recite short prayers throughout the day. Not only will short prayers help you, as a Christian, stay in check but you’ll also find that your time brings you closer to your faith.

“Lord God, may we be grateful for our lot, and compassionate toward all those who are suffering every kind of distress at this difficult time. May we hold back nothing, and hasten to be the ministers of prayer and mercy, like the disciples of Him who went about doing good in times of need.”

Short prayers will help a Christian have a grateful heart because it teaches others the necessity of having faith and being a compassionate individual. Difficult times can cause people to become distressed and lose track of being humble and happy for what they are blessed with. Speaking to Jesus Christ will allow an individual to identify the sacrifices that every person must give up. Furthermore short prayers, like this one about being grateful, gives an individual the opportunity to see how Jesus sacrificed for the sinners. He paid the ultimate price so that we could all live and carry on.

You don’t have to go through a troublesome time to want in order to want Christ by your side. When our loved ones die and pass over to heaven, we are comforted with the idea and notion that they are looking down upon us from heaven. We consider our deceased family and friends to be angels that are on our side. Even though their presence is no longer physical, we’re comforted with the notion that they are still spiritually by our side. Short prayers can help provide the comfort and reassurance that goes along with the desire to be on a deeper connection with Jesus.

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”

Fear can be a very troublesome emotion that causes an individual to second guess themselves. We can try and put forward a brave face, but inside no matter how hard we try sometimes we can’t shake the anxieties that grasp us from inside. Jesus Christ is the only one who can truly subside our fears. Think about it, when you’re scared who do you turn to? Who do you call out to when you need the impossible to be possible? Who do you seek for a deeper connection and view on elements that you don’t have the answer to? God of course! He is the only one that we feel a connection to on such a level that is comforting.

Therefore, when you’re feeling scared recite Psalm 56:3 and find comfort knowing that Jesus Christ is listening to you. He’s on your side.
