Services
One burning issue within modern Judaism is how to offer a relevant, vibrant spirituality to our community. Although some synagogues shun musical instruments, others have incorporated guitars, drums, tambourines, and other instruments that bring a different atmosphere to services. Meditation or chanting or spontaneous prayer have become a prelude to or part of other services. If prayer isn’t dynamic, it isn’t prayer, and if we don’t leave a service feeling we have joyfully connected to God and to others, then we have not had a service.
