7 Prayers for Obedience to God

What problems are you having with your relationship with Christ? Confusion, anger and frustration can lead us away from the Lord and what He wants for us. We may ignore the call and path that He wants us to take. We may let fear take over our beliefs.

In order to turn away from these negative emotions, we must take a moment to understand exactly why we feel the way we do and how these feelings are taking us away from the Word. The best way to do that is to create an open and honest dialog through prayer. Come to God with your questions and He will bring answers!

Everyone’s relationship with the Lord is different, but many of the problems are the same. Take a look at these prayers and use them to help strengthen your faith. Learning to banish unwavering doubt will help you obey God’s call for your life!

Prayer for Accepting God’s Will

Heavenly Father,

I pray that as each of us comes to a point in our lives where we dare to ask You to reveal Your will for us, You would put us in a place of acceptance of what You reveal to us. It may not be what we want, but it will surely be what we need in order to live a life fully invested in You. Help us to realize that anything You bring into our lives and anything You reveal to us is for our good. Give us a spirit of acceptance and a heart open to Your movement in our lives.

Allow us to let Your love surround us and cast out any fear or doubts. Help us to live in love with You, accept Your will for our lives and give us the proper response to Your revelation. May we trust in the way You push us to go.

Prayer Against Creeping Atheism

Father,

Forgive me for my fuzzy philosophy. I repent of any creeping atheism in any arena of my life. I realign my belief system with Your Word:

You are not dead but very much alive.

You have standards that You have put into place not unlike the law of gravity; if I follow Your ways, my life works; if I try to defy gravity, I fall.

You indeed hold me accountable for my actions, yet You not only forgive but you also detox me from darkness when I turn from folly and turn to You.

You are fully active in all of my affairs of life.

Right and Wrong are built into the fiber of the universe. I choose the Right Way. I choose You!

Now, Lord, I receive Your help to walk out my salvation, to lead a life that brings You joy, brings others joy, and brings myself complete joy as well.

Amen.

Prayer to Say Yes to God’s Plan

Father,

Give me a heart like that of Mary’s, willing to agree with Your Word, Your promises, and Your intent for my life. With Mary there was no negotiating, no hemming or hawing, no 24 hours to think about it, no keeping her options open. You simply spoke, and she unhesitatingly responded with a Yes. You have an intent for me. That purpose will have its challenges, its high points and low points, its joys and sorrows, but Your plan is far and above the best plan for my short life. May my soul be transformed into one that instantly obeys you, comes when You call, follows your lead, and believes Your Word even when I can’t fully comprehend it, for Your Word is Truth.

Prayer to Trust in God’s Care

My Father,

You are a good Father. You never change, grow weary of me, or tired of helping me. If Your Word says You care, then I choose to trust in that care. I place every burden I carry in Your hands today. [Name them one by one as they come to mind.]

I entrust my very soul into Your care. I will not worry for one moment. I refuse fear, for my Father cares for me and He is well aware of every critical issue I am facing today. I will not be discouraged. I will not be moved off of this strong stance of faith. I will stand my ground and declare that God is good! You care for me! I can, therefore, live a carefree life, free from heaviness, oblivious to the confusion and quandaries the enemy of my soul tries to engage me in.

Thank you for Your loving care for me and all that is important to me. Teach me to trust You more and more every day.
