4 Angels to Ask For Help in Your Marriage

Marriage is a source of incredible joy. Your spouse is there to support you when you are challenged, cheer you on when you succeed and help you get back up when you fall. They are your best friend, closest confidant and only lover. That does not mean, however, that things are always easy. There will be difficult times and struggles in your marriage no matter how much you love, trust and respect your spouse. The trials may not be something either of you did or can control. A tree might fall on your house, or one of you might get sick. You may move to a new city and struggle to find your place in it. You love your spouse and they love you, but sometimes you need a little more help than another human being can give you. In those instances, it can be a good idea to call on the angels. These spiritual beings and messengers of God are always listening and are usually happy to lend a helping hand to the faithful who need some assistance.

When it comes to seeking help in your marriage, some angels are more likely to be able to solve problems than others. Here are four angels to ask for help in your marriage.

Michael

Archangel Michael is the only angel in the Bible that is explicitly referred to as an archangel. He is mentioned repeatedly in the Book of Daniel and is said to be the one who will lead God’s armies against the forces of Satan in the Book of Revelation. He is most commonly known for being a powerful protector and warrior who is capable of defeating evil, but Archangel Michael is also associated with healing. He is known to grant people strength, courage and healing.

If you are struggling with temptation in your marriage or feel that something is threatening your marriage, Michael is a good angel to call upon. Ask for the strength to defeat your own demons and the courage to seek reconciliation with your spouse. You can also call on Michael before there is a problem and ask that he help keep you from strife in the first place.

Raphael

The name Raphael means “God heals” or “It is God who heals,” and the angel Raphael lives up to his name. He is associated with the angel in the Gospel of John who stirred the water at the healing pool of Bethesda and is explicitly mentioned in the Book of Tobit. This powerful angel is often considered to be an archangel, but the canonical Bible never explicitly names him as such. The apocryphal Book of Enoch, however, lists Raphael as one of the four archangels alongside Gabriel, Uriel and Michael.

Raphael is the patron of both healing and traveling. Call upon him if you or your spouse need physical healing, or if you need assistance in undergoing emotional healing. Raphael can help you heal a struggling marriage.

The angel Raphael is also good to call on for assistance in traveling the journey of marriage. Both you and your spouse will grow and change over time, and a little angelic assistance can help make your journey from friends to fiancés to spouses to parents to empty nesters a bit easier.

Gabriel

The angel Gabriel is perhaps the best known angel in Christianity due to his central place in the Christmas story. It is Gabriel who is sent to tell Mary that she will bear the Son of God. That is not, however, the only place in the Bible that Gabriel appears. In the Book of Daniel, Gabriel is the angel who helps Daniel interpret his visions of the end times.

Given his role in the Bible, perhaps it is unsurprising to hear that Gabriel is associated with communication of any and every kind. As communication is essential in a marriage, Gabriel is a good choice of angel to call on. He is also associated with children and child rearing. As anyone who has ever babysat knows, parents need all the help and advice they can get when it comes to raising children. When it comes to being the best parent you can be, a little angelic assistance would not go awry.

Azrael

Azrael is one of those angels that is never explicitly named in the Bible but has nonetheless become a common part of Christian beliefs. His name means “Help From God” or “One Whom God Helps,” but he is most often associated with something far less innocent than his name appears to imply. Azrael is the angel of death. He is the one who appears to the dying, transforms them into a bodiless soul and helps them cross over to the other side.

It may be strange to think of calling on the angel of death to help with your marriage. Death is the last thing you want to have nearby! When it comes to Azrael, however, “death” does not just mean the end of this life. It can also mean endings of any kind and, thus, transitions into new beginnings. Call on Azrael if you are transitioning into a new phase of your marriage, such as having children or retiring. He can help you adjust to your new life, regardless of whether the last chapter of your life closed because you had children, became a caretaker for aging parents or simply moved to a new city.
